This place has really gone downhill. I hadn't been here in quite some time, and I used to regard this as the second best cheesesteak joint in southern California behind John's Philly Grill in OC. Went the other day with my dad, got two cheesesteaks and fries and it was almost $40. Fries were hot, steaks weren't. Cheese looked like it had been under a heat lamp and there was barely any meat. They want $1 for ranch or bbq with the fries when they're already charging $5.25. Quality to price doesn't match at all and I'm really really bummed. This place used to hold a special place as my go to when I'm in San Diego, but I definitely won't be back and would recommend not wasting the money. Go to Mendocino farms and get a $15 sandwich that doesn't suck instead

Disappointed in Philly Frank's tonight. Ordered a cheesesteak with Italian ice, then decided to add onion rings which were put on a separate check. Waited for way too long, saw people enter, order, and leave while I still waited. Finally someone came to me and we discovered the sandwich just sitting there without onion rings or ice. I told them I was disappointed in this, and the young woman at the counter seemed to take it personally and denied being responsible for the failure. I told her I faulted the entire team, not just her, and noted that I had even tipped them well when I paid. But the immature, unprofessional, and ridiculously defensive attitude continued. They quickly prepared the remainder of my order and a more professional female employee came to me and apologized for attitude of the other one. I have been coming here for probably 15 years, but mostly at lunch where I have always experienced excellent customer service and an efficient professional operation. Unfortunately not the case tonight. Three stars because the food was still good.

Hidden gem in San Marcos. Flavors are authentic with authentic ingredients. A new local favorite for sure. I highly recommend trying the works with some cheese fries. Try to water ice too

I walked by this place of number of times, even walked inside, but not gotten a Philly steak and cheese. But today I was really hankering, and I remembered this place. I asked the cashier is this going to be the Philly steak I've ever had outside of Philly, he immediately said yes . He was RIGHT!! They ship tge rolls from Philly!!! Clean and spacious inside with an outdoor patio

Amazing cheese steak. Live in Claremont and would drive up here again for these gems. No frills dining room but food out of this world.

I ordered through DoorDash. The food was hot and so delicious! Will definitely be ordering again.

I have eaten here a few times in the past and the food had always been good except for the french fries. My last visit here was not great, I noticed a lot of changes to the food. I ordered 2 sandwiches, the pepper cheesesteak and the mushroom cheesesteak and a side of fries (hoping they would taste better this time). The sandwiches were thin and small for the price, nearly $15 per sandwich, there wasn't a whole lot of flavor or cheese besides the grilled onion. The fries were still terrible, and tasted burnt and had a lot of burnt fries. Don't order their fries, it's that bad. The place was empty when I arrived to get my order, not sure why the workers couldn't take their time making an authentic Phillycheese steak like they used to years ago.

Great restaurant but the lady at the front could not figure out how to accept debit cards and it held the line up quite a bit. Food was amazing though and customer service was great.

I was searching for a cheesesteak spot in the san diego area and came across this one which was highly recommended on reddit by many people. They were pretty busy with only two people working with one of the two taking both orders and cooking. You can tell they were highly stressed, which is no fault of there own. It seems that someone called out. I ordered a cheesesteak with peppers, onions, and provolone. Not sure if it was because they were overwored and stressed but the sandwich was pretty bland, I was disappointed. Hardly any cheese, too much peppers and onions with its taste standing out more than the beef and cheese. It tasted like a pepper and onion sandwich.

My friend and I came here on a Friday night to enjoy some cheesesteaks. I ordered the Pepper Cheesesteak which had sweet peppers, grilled onions and I chose cheese wiz for my cheese. My friend ordered the Mushroom cheesesteak which had mushrooms, grilled onions and he chose cheeze wiz for the cheese. Then we shared a side of fries. One of the better cheesesteak shops in the North County San Diego and overall the Greater San Diego area too.

A bit pricey for the portion size, but probably the best cheesesteak I’ve ever had. If you’ve got money or just want to treat yourself, I highly recommend this spot.

You can not go wrong here with any of the Philly steaks. Genuine right to the roll and filling. It is pricey but what isn't? Quality beyond anything a chain shop makes and some fun sports history on the walls of some of the greats! Not a place you want to sit at and eat, just do take out.

This is authentic Cheese Steaks from Philly. When you walk inside you will see alot of Philly Memorabilia. The restaurant isn't what I would eat my meal at.I get my subs and go.If you stay and eat you can pull a seat up and watch a Philly game with a cold beer.Enjoy!@!

This is the only place I go outside of New York, New Jersey or Pennsylvania for a cheesesteak. It is awesome deliciousness at its finest! The bread is amazing they know how to cook the steak and mix it all in with the cheese and the toppings. They really know how to make crispy french fries and onion rings. Overall a true five star restaurant. Please excuse the half eaten food in my pics. I could not wait to start eating.
