This is definitely the best spot for breakfast/ brunch. The food is always delicious, the drinks are spot on. We are regulars now here and all the servers have always provided great service, Belen in particular is very nice and always on top of it. The thing that really makes this better than other nearby restaurants is that the manager, Ivan, he actually goes around always making sure you're taken care of. He's refilled our drinks, brought us condiments we needed and is always aware of the customers which is a rarity nowadays and that makes you feel welcomed! Definitely recommend San Marcos Broken Yolk!

Taylor always provides me with quick and friendly service! Love coming in for the food and having her as my server is a bonus !

They have the option of swiss cheese for an omelet which is becoming totally rare. Can always count on a filling breakfast.

To Whom it may Concern with the Broken Yolk in San Marcos... My sister and I decided to go to your Establishment for breakfast, we were seated in a booth, soon after Alexa P took our order and it took 30 minutes to get our food, when the guy server brought our food,I told her that I wanted to talk to the manager. Yai Yai (spelling ?) came over and I explained to her that it took 30 minutes to get our food when the couple was seated after us and received their food before we did. Yai Yai (spelling?) stated to us that she will go and check with the kitchen and find out why it took so long. She came back and stated that the kitchen had to SHUT OFF THE GRILL AND RESTART IT AND MAKE OUR FOOD OVER AGAIN. Let's just say the restaurant is full of people and they had to shut down the grill...REALLY!!! When a guy server brought our food to us, the hash browns weren't crispy and well undercooked, my sour dough bread wasn't even toasted and my sisters toast was burnt. told her that we both wanted well done crispy hash browns and I wanted my eggs scrambled light, which were well done. We both were very disappointed in the Unprofessional experience at your Restaurant.!!! April 11, 2024 11:00

Best breakfast place around! The food looks exactly like the photos they advertise, and tastes amazing! I am not normally a breakfast person, and I'm very picky about breakfast, but this place was fantastic! I had a Tiki Toast Combo and would definitely buy it again. They also have vegan options; my friend ordered a spicy vegan meal and loved it! The wait was only about 15 minutes on a busy Sunday (2 PM). Very loud inside, so bring earplugs if you are sensitive to noise, or ask to sit outside (although you'll face the wind, sun, etc.).

We had a great brunch experience today! Our server, Taylor, was awesome!! Great service, very accommodating. Our son has special needs and eating out can be really overwhelming for him, but she was so sweet to him and helped him to feel comfortable. The food was also great and came out quickly!

Noisy, dishes were dirty. No tea pots, ? Did not even get to the food, because we were unable to hear over kitchen noise.

The manager Ivan, waitress Belen,& Alexis are the best here we always see ivan going around asking if everyone is good not something I see in most restaurants. They are always very attentive and make you feel very welcome and at home I definitely recommend you coming here for breakfast or brunch

We ate here during the pandemic and had a good experience. Breakfast choices in North County are slim. So we thought we would try BYC again. Service was slow and inattentive. It took forever to get our food. When it arrived it wasn't hot. My wife ordered a cappuccino, which was served in a 5 ounce cup. And they charged $5.55! You can get a tall at Starbucks for under $4. And it was not well prepared. My wife sent it back and just drank water. The Canadian bacon on the eggs Benedict wasn't sliced properly. My wife's toast was barely toasted. And worst of all, the fruit served with each of our plates was dry mushy and old. It looked and felt days old. We swapped it out for hash browns. They brought out 2 large plates of hash browns that were hot but cooked hard. The server never asked if we needed anything more to drink, much less anything else. With the inflated price of everything these days, including eating out, what's served should be appealing, fresh, and tasty. The food we got at BYC in San Marcos was nowhere near that quality.

Asked about the wait time, they said 10-25 minutes, we asked about sitting inside and got the same, then proceeded to tell the people behind us that if you sat out on the patio, there was no wait time. Well why wouldn't you just tell us that in the first place. Now I'm wondering if the food will make up for the host.

Took my lil ones before heading out to legoland last week. They got us all feed and didn't mind the noise lil one was making. Always good vibes. Appreciate the service. Although I did feel bad the day I went. It seemed that there was only one server. Hopefully he broke the bank and tips that day.

Waited 1 hour for what was supposed to be a 15 minute wait, just for them to take us off the list. The women let everybody else in but my party.

Enjoyed BYC in Carlsbad so wanted to try a different location. This one is a large location (prior Elephant Cafe if you remember that place) and great large parking lot in this Las Posas road center with Sprouts. The food was the same wide menu and good quality for breakfast. The seating host wasn’t great but our server was really friendly and helpful. Tried the Sweet Trio (one cinnamon pancake, Tiki Toast and Crunchy French toast) and it was a good intro to their sweet side of the menu. All were unique and good to share. I normally go with the breakfast burrito so needed to snack on spouse’s egg and bacon dish to supplement- all and all a good experiment
