This was one of my favorite places to grab a sour beer. The service was always great, it was always packed when I came by, plenty of parking, and just a great vibe. Sadly, Wild Barrel has closed for good, the batting cages they shared the building with also closed and was cleared out.I got to enjoy the last of my Wild Barrel sour beers and grabbed a couple crowlers to go the day before they closed for good. The cherry flanders was one of my favorites, also their stout beers were amazing.

Super surprised I haven't written a review for this local brewery! I've been here a handful of times...and each time, my experience gets better and better. My better half and I went in on Thanksgiving around 2pm. There were a few people there.I really hate IPAs and sometimes it's a struggle to find something at local breweries, but at Wild Barrel, there's always something on tap I can enjoy. This visit, I enjoyed a few different taster stouts but my favorite was the Hipster Marshmallow Stout. A few tasters was all I needed to really get the holiday spirit going!Plenty of parking, as well as indoor and outdoor seating....this is one of my favorite local spots! Cheers!

Stopped by to pick up a 4 pack to take back home to Fresno. My beer cave would usually have them in stock, but during my last few visits, they were missing in action. Since my son now goes to a grad school in the area, I just had to see for myself what this brewery was all about. The brewery shares a location with SoCal Batting Center. Upon entrance, just make a left and you're there. The brewery has a comfortable setting but not as spacious compared to other breweries that I am accustomed to. They have extended seating just to the side of the building. The gentleman that assisted me was nice and attentive. He was responsive when I asked a few questions about the brewery.Wild Barrel has different offerings, but the most popular in my opinion, are their sours. I don't discriminate when it comes to beer =) Whether it's IPAs, lagers, other ales or sours - I will drink you! =) I lean towards IPAs most of the time but I'll venture into sours every now and then. Wild Barrel, along with breweries in Tracy and SLO, tend to produce very good sours. I hope to experience an actual pour at my next visit.

When I'm meeting up with friends in north county SD, I tend to suggest this location because the interior AND exterior are both spacious. Kid and I believe dog friendly, so the whole family can join. They have a great selection of sours and plenty of cans to go. I don't recall there always being food trucks here, but they have chips and salsa available to purchase. I tend to come here for a more relaxed catchup vs trying to get a table at Stone

Stopped by this brewery yesterday. IPA was exceptional and the food truck was great! Probably the best pulled pork sandwich ever. My friend said the Gose beer was excellent as well. have a large indoor space with the bar and mini tables and a huge outdoor patio. Will definitely be back.

Wild Barrel was a fave local brewery of mine even before I became a local. Years ago, when I was still residing in the Bay Area, Wild Barrel was a regular stop for me during my frequent visits to San Diego County. Luckily, now, it's 1 of the more convenient breweries for me to get to. With a fair number of my visits here having been via bicycle. The beer is good. For a brewery, that always has to be the priority. Over the years, I've tried virtually every beer title they've released. There's been many more hits than misses. As far as styles, you'll mainly find: their Vice series of sours, IPA's (of course), pilsners/ lagers, pastry stouts, & the occasional barrel-aged stout or sour.To enjoy their beers, Wild Barrel has multiple spacious indoor & outdoor areas, all with a welcoming chill vibe. Food trucks/ popups are here most days, though I gotta admit I stick to a liquid diet. Cozying up to the bar, like I usually do, brings me to service, which has always been outstanding for me. Staff here has been friendly & knows their stuff.& then there's the classes. A few years ago, I took a few Universtiy Extension brewing classes & Wild Barrel was actively involved. As in, the owners/ founders themselves participated & they opened up their brewhouse. That level of community outreach really is something special. For me, Wild Barrel was already a great place to get a beer. But that really put it over the top

That's our neighbor, we are there almost every Friday or Saturday. Good choices of beers. Good food trucks, good people.

Love the atmosphere and openness. Patio for games and then close proximity to batting cages and axe throwing. Producing comedy shows here is a blast. Friendly staff and great brews.

Never knew this place existed. While San Marcos is, to me, a little far to drive to, I believe it was worth the drive from Oceanside. You know, the ole Drinking and Driving thing. Anyway, we came here because of a baby shower. Yes, you read that right, a BABY SHOWER. Was lots of fun. This place has batting cages and axe throwing. Great combo for people drinking beer. LoL. No seriously, it was fun. The staff was incredibly nice. And the place is clean. There were even vendors selling crafts. Now for the beer. If you like sours, they had the biggest selection I've ever seen. I ended up trying the Vice Blueberry Cherry. Delicious. My husband had Spring Creek IPA. Well, he had four.Yes, this place was worth my FIVE STARS.

Great spot to chill and grab beers, hop over to axe throwing for added fun. Really great selection of beers, sours, slushies, and ports...much more selection than most breweries. Outside area is family friendly, games for kids. Food trucks show up daily.

Such a fun place for all. Saw moms with their kids. Dads too...there is a batting cage in the same building. We went for the 1st time for Ms. Potato on Wed. You order @ the outside food truck but they bring the food inside to you! The beer severs were really helpful & nice as well tell8ngvus about the different beers & stouts. We came back for donuts & stouts on Sat. hoping to bring home some chocolate stout but no could do. Still had a great time & will go back soon. Next time we will bring our own crowlers!!

I tried their Hazy double IPA, and it was amazing! They specialize in a brew called “Fruited Berliner Weisse” which is a “sour” type. I’m not normally a sour beer kinda guy, but I tried it anyways. I got a Passion Fruit, Orange, guava one. And it’s absolutely amazing! It tastes like a sour Jolly Rancher that isn’t really that sour. Highly recommend this place especially if your willing to step out from the normal and down for some really tasty beers!
