I love Colonial Kitchen. Been going there for years. I went last weekend and tried the Chilaquiles. The chilaquiles were fine, except for the sides: hashbrowns and lettuce with pico de gallo on top. Although I understand that not everyone likes refried beans, patrons should be given the option of either a side of beans or hashbrowns. Lettuce is definitely not an acceptable side for chilaquiles.

Service and atmosphere were great, but the food was disappointing. The Ruben sandwich had an after taste, and my husband got a new York steak and eggs and the steaks was a tough to chew and had no flavor. Not a place I would recommend.

I regret not taking any pictures but the food was very blah. No taste whatsoever I wanted to play it safe and order a salad I mean who can mess up salad but sure enough yes Plaines salad ever. Cesar salad with only lettuce chicken and dressing nothing else. Onion rings tastlesa slime texture and taste oily.
Couldn't go back.

My wife and I had always passed by this spot and always wanted to try it and it was worth it. We’re definitely coming back to try more dishes. Their brisket sandwich was very good and had a lot of flavor

This restaurant in Sam Marino, has a warm atmosphere that from the outside says to the customer, welcome to a classical homelike feeling restaurant. The interior is comfortable as well. The servers were attentive and welcoming, checking on us regularly. The food was not quite what I was expecting, I ordered breakfast and my friend a lunch meal. Food was presentable, but something in the flavor was lacking. After my visit, I heard from friends that the ownership had changed and so did the taste (which makes sense).

Has a southern diner vibe. Really warm friendly greeting upon entering. Alas, regular coffee tepid, watery and weak. Also same goes for the decaf. I did a refill and a touch up just to see if coffee was fresher or improved...nope. we ordered breakfast...cost nearly 45 bucks for plain old scrambled eggs and sausage, didn't come wirh hash browns either....had the buttermilk pancakes, large, plenty of whipped butter, ...but rubbery and tasteless. And maple syrup from a bottle u can get from the supermarket. Service was efficient. I really wanted to like this place bec its cute with that old time-y country vibe. But gosh, the ham and cheese omelette had tiny finely microscopic bits of ham in it and no cheese inside just a square of American cheese on top. Kinda skimpy...for a $17 breakfast, please be more generous.

Never busy but slow. The fresh squeezed orange juice is delicious.

I love a classic diner!! This place reminds me of dinner at Grandmas house. They have fresh squeezed orange juice and if that is not enough reason to go, check out their Elvis room.A touch on the pricey side, but everything is right now.
