I have eaten at nearly every Japanese restaurant in Pasadena and this one has by far the worst service. DO NOT EAT HERE under any circumstances. The filipino hostess has the most egregiously disgusting attitude towards me, my family, and my girlfriend every time we have come here.At first I thought she was having a bad day but now it is evident that she clearly hates her job and is extremely condescending to everyone who comes in there. The last time I went there the filipino lady actually FORCED us to leave the restaurant within 2 minutes because they were fully booked and didn’t allow us to make a reservation for another date or have take out.If you are reading this, DO NOT EAT here under any circumstances. If you already have had the misfortune of eating here, leave a honest review and I will comp your meal $15 (venmo request my ID).This is for the good of the community as someone who lives in Pasadena and passes by this restaurant every day. Do not support this restaurant. I have spent literally over $2,000 eating here + uber eats before I have come to this conclusion.Nothing that this restaurant responds will change my mind. I will continue to spread word to every person I know and every local group to have more people avoid this establishment.

I came here with my family that lives in San Marino. What a gem to have in the neighborhood. Lunch for 7 and everything was consistently delicious. My favorites were the salmon skin salad, regular chawanmushi, and the uni pasta (a special). They have lots of big booths that can fit 8 people.

Great gem in San Marino with authentic sashimi and sushi in a setting decorated just like you were in Tokyo and with very friend service. The quantity is really by far one if not the best in the SGV area and will definitely return!

Really good, high-quality sushi. Yes it costs a little more but you really get what you pay for. I've eaten here three times now and each time, the fish was consistently good. We did the omakase for about $150 and it was worth it!

Had the Omakase - sushi is fresh - high quality and done well. The sushi chefs behind the counter were nice and friendly. Our server Amy was attentive and helpful. The hostess Mia was ok - she's a bit rough on the edges. They have good selection of Sake bottles. The place is located along Huntington drive, parking is available at the back. They do close at 9pm. The place is empty by 8pm. It's not a happening place - just good ol' plain sushi. They have tables and booths at the back for larger groups. It is in the heart of San Marino - quite far in the deep from the 210 freeway. It is also expensive - 2 regular omakase and a bottle of $85 sake was over $550 plus tip. If you live close by, definitely worth checking it out. Not something you'd drive for to have good sushi.

Excellent service by Austin and crew. Food was good, price is very reasonable. Had a great time here ! There are a lot of good sushi spots in SGV area. Finding one where you can enjoy your meal and interact with the crew is special. Makes the meal just a bit more special.

The sashimi is incredibly fresh, and the spacious restaurant offers a comfortable dining experience. The sweet shrimp practically melts in your mouth, providing a delightful taste. However, there's room for improvement in the service department. During my visit, I had to approach the waiter to request the check, and it seemed like the staff were preoccupied with their conversations rather than attending to customer needs. This aspect definitely warrants some attention and improvement.

Good food. Lunch omikase was very reasonable and sushi was great. Make sure to take the shrimp head in the miso soup. So delicious!

Yeah, the food itself is fine. However, the people (e.g., the management) are not. I'm not sure if they've since switched people out, but I do remember the owner inviting a large party of his friends to eat and catering to them while being quite ignorant of the other guests. Furthermore, I did notice the (who I think) manager mistreat staff. It was quite unprofessional.Edit 10/19/23: this is in reference to the initial owners; the present review has no bearing on the current management.

Came here spontaneously on a random weeknight without reservations. Staff was warm and welcoming. The restaurant was ~ 80% occupied throughout the evening so definitely recommend making reservations for large parties, the sushi bar, and weekends. We got the premium sushi, premium chirashi and the tempura don. What is interesting is the spread between the sushi and chirashi differed slightly which made it fun for us. We did not go for the chawamushi upgrade for truffles and caviar for $8 since we are not fans of truffles. We were slightly caught off guard that hot tea was $3 per person. The sushi was fresh and generously portioned but maybe because it was the summer season, the fish wasn't as flavorful as I had expected. The tempura don was delicious and reasonably priced. I think we're coming back for hot food options and try the omakase. The premium sets were just under $50 so within market range and just as expected.Quality of service was great and easy parking out front. Great to have another neighborhood sushi bar with serene ambiance to add to the repertoire!!
