I got the Jasmine Oolong Milk Tea and Osmanthus Jelly as the topping and it was soo good. Slightly less fragrant than Chagee, but they make up for it with the topping. Really good and I'd come back. The manager though could be friendlier.
Love the non caffeinated milk tea
Enjoy their tea and jelly selections. Line might be long but moves quickly.
To tea or not to tea is the question. :D That being said let’s delve into my review.
Torotea is a cute lil teahouse with unique handcrafted teas and cubed toppings. They are nestled in the heart of my favorite classy neighborhood San Marino.
It was by mere chance that I stumbled upon this tea house while driving on Huntington avenue. I made a quick stop and parked on the side street. It seemed very popular among young Asian high-schoolers. I was warmly greeted and perused their menu projected on the wall by a projector. After minutes of deliberation, I opted to go for a Calamansi Oolong Tea x toppings. I thought it was uniquely refreshing with subtle lime taste.
Interior layout was minimalist and modern. Atmosphere was vibrant. Music was a bit loud to have a convo unless you’re used to shouting. lol. Prices seemed pricey. But the teas quality and cute cups may justify it. Staff were nice and professional.
Overall, I had a nice experience and enjoyed an iced calamansi oolong tea. I shall recommend this tea house.
Unique teas. Quality is inconsistent. Some days the sugar will be missing or the jellies might be a little old with a weird texture. But the tea taste and jelly combination when it is good, it's great! The interior is lovely and beautiful designed.
Delicious milktea!
Tea is excellent and service is great. Just give it a try
Pretty good for the price.
Their staff is disrespectful and do not have good customer service skills. Even when you ask them nicely - and when you start getting upset they turn around and say you disrespect them . Not coming back
Good but not worth it.
We had the Popcorn Milk Tea and the Brûlée Milk Ice. If you don’t like the flavor of tea and want more of the milk flavor this place could be for you.
Personally, we like tea forward milk tea, so while the flavors in general tasted natural, it’s mostly milk. You can also see it in the drink as it’s a very very light tan color.
The “boba” tapiochi is a unique twist which was good but not good enough to overcome the small cup you get for nearly $8
The Iced Milk sadly isn’t customizable. You can’t change the amount of ice you receive, which is quite a lot. The brûlée topping is a bit thick too, it’s more a kin to cheese foam than a brûlée.
All in all, not a bad place in San Marino, but also not a top tier boba/tea shop.

10 min wait usually
Soooo delicious! The ember milk tea with barley jelly hit the spot! Definitely did not feel guilty having a late sugary indulgence.
Came to Toro Tea right when they opened at 11am and there was already a line, which is always a good sign. My server Melanie was super friendly and recommended the popcorn milk tea with brown sugar tapioca and Himalayan sea salted cloud at the perfect sweet level. The drink was amazing—definitely one of the best I’ve had. I can’t wait to come back and try more from the menu.
Service was fast and the whole team was welcoming. The ambiance is really unique and feels like you’ve stepped into a different world, which makes the experience even better. Parking can be a bit tricky, but it’s worth it once you’re inside.
The Misty Oolong Milk tea was PERFECT! The oolong tea had a slight bitter note that wasn’t too sweet. The large rectangular tapiochi was just the right softness that it slurped up the straw easily and had a texture like custard. Overall delicious and it spoiled my tastebuds! There was no seating though in the cramped space! Way too many people. So we had to take it to go. Nice though that they serve cool refreshing complimentary lemon water while you stand in the hot sun waiting to order.
I was initially very excited when Toro Tea opened in my neighborhood. Their Diamond Bar location had been hyped as one of the best tea spots around, so I had high hopes. When they first opened, I visited almost weekly, trying different milk teas.
My top two favorites are definitely the Koan Im Milk Tea, Misty Oolong Milk Tea.
The only caveat, when they’re good. On three separate occasions, those same drinks tasted noticeably different. This isn’t just something I noticed either, friends who frequent this location have confirmed the same experience. The inconsistency makes me reluctant to recommend, especially if there’s a wait. I can’t speak for their Diamond Bar store, but this one seems to have too much variability in the brewing process.
