Solid winery. I was surprised to learn that this winery has the same winemaker as Little Uvas Vineyards which they share the space with here because my friends and I all thought the wines at LUV were terrible whereas the wines here were pretty decent. Wine tasting is $20 for 5 wines (variety), waived with a $50 purchase. The tastings are given all at once in little carafes so you taste at your own pace. Reasonable pour sizes. Lots of tables inside and outside as well. The employees are nice. There's board games, self serve water machine, and a pizza vendor on site, but they allow outside food as well. Plenty of parking

We recently discovered DeRose has a tasting room in the Gilroy area by a recommendation. We have been up to the winery in Hollister, which is a bit of a drive, but worth the time because the wines are all incredible. So we were excited to try out the new tasting room that is much closer to us.The people running the tasting are family and were so nice. They greeted us in and gave us options for the flight and had a Rosé open to try and buy by the glass (I love Rosé and this one was excellent). The first pour was in a chilled glass! We were told to sit down and make ourselves comfortable and they would bring the rest of the wines out to us. We decided to sit outside in their patio area and discovered there is another wine bar working side-by-side with DeRose who also offers wood-fired pizzas! As we sat down, our flights arrived and we enjoyed each and every one. Our favorites were the Viognier, the Zin Rosé (which they offered as an extra pour which made us feel special) and the Hollywood Red. The wines are excellent, but I must give five stars for the service and the special attention the staff provides. We decided to stay and share a pizza and get a bottle of Rosé for lunch. They insisted that they would keep our Rosé in the fridge to keep it extra chilled as the day was warm...awesome people and wine!We will definitely be back as they told us they change the wine options every week. I highly recommend DeRose if you are searching for great wine and a great wine tasting experience. I may be joining the wine club and become a regular...

I love DeRose Tasting Room. The wine is impeccable, with the varieties including their reds, sparkling wines, rose, and white wines. The ambiance of the beautiful bar, friendliness of the staff, music, options of bringing a picnic or ordering a wood fired pizza, as well as games for all ages makes this unique establishment one that I will enjoy often!

Came here a couple weeks ago for the wine and cheesesteak food truck. Was awesome. Great service and the wine was killer. Had some tasty big red wines and varietals I hadn’t tried before. The whites also were great. Wife was a big fan of the Chardonnay and Zinn rosĂ©.

What an amazing addition to a beautiful family run business. I am so happy they've expanded so more people can experience their wine. They're always so friendly and helpful every time I've been out there. I never really cared for wine much before having DeRose but they will open up a whole world for you. Definitely worth checking out.

As a wine club member who pays $100 every quarter we were treated extremely poorly from the moment we walked in for a tasting. We enjoy the DeRose wines very much and consider it a treat to come out for our complimentary tasting and to visit with the team that runs the show however this last experience was one I don’t wish on anyone. From the moment we walked in we were told that we would be assisted and were ignored. We weren’t asked which tasting we wanted
it was assumed, but we sort of went with it. We went outside to wait for our tasting and in the meantime, ordered food from the winery next door since we often sit in their tasting area. We waited 10 minutes for our tasting but eventually got it. We were casually enjoying the afternoon and I even commented how it’s nice coming out to this tasting room and thinking about what bottle we should get
Then we were approached by one of the employees “ya
I really need to talk to you guys”. We were basically told that we come out too often and we should really get a bottle or a glass because they feel we are coming for our free tasting and simply leaving. I can tell you this has never been the case. We come for our tasting as members and we purchase a glass of wine or a bottle almost every time we are out. There may have been a couple of times we haven’t, I’ll admit but we have always made some kind of purchase. We reluctantly made a wine purchase (which we were going to do anyway) because we basically felt like homeless trash
We were singled out and told “we don’t want to put limitations on how many times you can come out for your complimentary tasting as a deluxe member”
which tastings are waived mind you. It was just awful
Upon signing up as a member we have yet to receive any quarterly shipments and this is now falling into the 3rd quarter. So they collect payment every 3 months, we get no wine and nobody seems to know what membership we are on. We were paying and then told that we shouldn’t be paying. It’s just a mess
the winery in San Martin is beautiful but the folks running things are up tight and scrambling half the time. We are the ones getting the short end of the stick and have been forgotten about a few times and casually brushed it off because we see how busy they are
After this afternoons experience I wanted to share and hopefully this helps future members. Just be mindful
 and again
I don’t wish this rudeness on any PAYING patron
 Yes
 we pay
to make that clear. If anything I’m hoping we were accidentally confused with another couple that takes advantage of the system, because we clearly do not

We have been hearing about DeRose and thought we’d give it a try. It’s inside a converted warehouse building with a beautiful bar and lots of tables. The people running it were super-friendly and started us off with our first pour of their Chardonnay in a chilled glass. It was very refreshing. Not an over-oaked Chardonnays like some others make, but a fresh and bright wine. It was very good. The rest of our wines were brought to our table in carafes nestled in a little wood box. We loved the system they have here as we didn’t have to keep going back to the bar for the other pours or wait on staff to come out each time. We really like the Negrette and the Zin. Everything on the flight was excellent, but these two were the stand-outs!Staff checked on us often, gave us an extra little pour and told us about the history of the winery and how it is all family run. They let us know that the wine menu changes each week, so that’s a plus as we won't get the same thing each visit! They even brought out blocks for our baby to play with so we could enjoy the experience. We ended up buying several bottles and had a great time. We will definitely be back and telling our friends.

A great wine tasting experience! We were out wine tasting last weekend and found DeRose on a search for tasting rooms in the area and thought we’d give it a try. The staff welcomed us in and got us started with a tasting in a chilled glass. We sat down and the rest of our wines were brought out to us and each one was as good as the next. Staff came by and let us have an extra splash of their RosĂ© and came back with a special pour of their Sangiovese. It’s at that point we had to start seriously considering which ones we were going to buy as every one of the seven were outstanding. In the end, we walked out with six bottles. The Viognier, the Pinot Noir, the Sangiovese, the Zinfandel and two bottles of that fabulous RosĂ©. We’re planning another trip and bringing friends with us. What a great find!I highly recommend DeRose! Great wines and friendly staff who really know how to treat customers right.

The Zin’s and Old Vine Negrette are some of the best we’ve ever had!
