I can understand why this place has such low ratings. The only reason I bothered coming here was because I had received a gift card for this place through a giveaway in which they partnered with an influencer. The bill came out to $50 for a tiny burger, a broccoli & cheese sandwich, and fries. BUT I had a gift card so I didn't care. However, when it came to paying said bill with the gift card code, they wouldn't honor it. Our waiter was very kind, but the manager was awful. She just looked at us and was like it doesn't work, I don't know and just walked away and that was that. USELESS. I didn't want to waste more of my night here so I just paid with my credit card. What a waste of time and money. There are so many other places in San Mateo that I would've rather gone to had I known I was going to actually be paying out of pocket. Never coming back - go spend your money somewhere else. San Mateo has so many great options, don't waste your time and money here.

Food was bland. Not sure they even sprinkled salt on any one piece of meat. Service was okay but the new server just said no instead of asking if they had the things we were asking for. Prices did not match the quality.

Came here for a last minute lunch date and I'm so excited we did. I had seen a lot of people post about this place and I've been trying to make my way over. One thing I love is there is lots of parking being they are in Hillsdale Mall on the outside expansion area by the Apple Store / Lululemon. We walked in and were greeted right away. The menu had a great selection & we decided to get two different things and split it to be able to try both items. The menu also had a decent amount of KETO options! So this is the perfect place for people who are on KETO. We got the BELCAMPO Burger & the Chicken Avocado Sando! We also ordered the fries and sweet potato fries both were perfect! I highly recommend trying both. The only thing I wasn't a huge fan of was the "KETO" ketchup.. I think they should have another option just incase people wanted regular ketchup.. but other then that everything was wonderful. The staff was really friendly and attentive. I can't wait to bring back my hubby.

Felt impersonal w/all App ordering system. A bit like take out at a restaurant. A bit disappointing for first timers. Food was ok but formula felt detached. Auto service charge for what? Lots of work on our part. Difficult to get any questions answered.
It was a very nice restaurant. The staff was very nice and accommodating. The food was tasteful and cooked as requested. The price was a little high for the portions but it was a nice experience. I'll likely return at a future date.

This is the worst restaurant experience ever. Ordered Cobb salad and we found out that the eggs (with salad) are prepackaged so you get the boiled eggs as they come. We had one order with eggs cooked well but the second order the eggs were soft boiled and slimy. Burgers were all burnt, over cooked. Didn't even have ranch dressing for the salads. Ordered hot tea with honey and the honey is diluted with water. Will never come back here again. No wonder this place was empty. Save your money.. Go elsewhere.

While we don't like to give negative reviews, unfortunately, here is why this restaurant deserves one: 1) ambiance and decor made us feel we were entering some type of walkup deli. Very sterile. That set the mood. 2) Our server was great, no complaints there but we got the impression very few people darken the restaurant's doorstep, and person was compensating for this factor. 3) The prime steak entrees just come with the tasteless beef on a plate. The meat (medium rare) was exceptionally tough for a ribeye. All the other "side dishes" are a la carte. I'm surprised we didn't have a line item charge for water served. The side dishes were unimaginative and also tasteless. Personally, I'm sorry that this newly established restaurant (other locations exist beside Hillsdale) is taking a space at the reimagined Hillsdale Mall. BTW, the menu is very limited which gives pause to why those few menu items are not exemplary.
Food was excellent, bar service was a little slow but all servers were friendly and helpful. Servers check in with us a number of times to make sure everything was okay. It would have been nice to know there was no accompaniment with our order, everything is a la carte so the plate was pretty empty. We will go back.

Sat outside for brunch. You order and pay on their website and food is delivered pronto. Very dog friendly. Complimentary refills on my drink ! Great vibe and very professional staff. I'll be back.

Philly cheesesteak ($16): 5/5 Steak & carrots ($35): 3/5 Philly cheesesteak was delish. Ordered steak rare, it was slightly overcooked, dry and a little tough. All moisture was from the sauces on top, the meat itself didn't have the juiciness factor I love in rare steaks. Carrots were good. With the sauce, they reminded me of roasted sweet potato, cept a little firmer and less starchy. Very keto-friendly menu. Food took a long time. Nice dining areas, both indoors and outdoors. Service: 5/5 Ordering is via qr code, and they tack on a $1 fee for the privilege. Will not order steak here again, since the kitchen's steak cooking skills ain't there.
We waited over a half hour for our food. Our waitress ignored us So we asked another server to help us and he said” he's going to be our waiter now. We ordered New york steak to be split. it came sliced like roast beef. The animal fat fries were good. Ordered the baby lettuce salad and i kid you not, it was from a bag and completely wilted . I'm shocked they would serve that! We skipped desert. Then we had to track down a waiter to pay our bill. The bartender had no one at the bar and she accommodated us. I am not one to complain but I had to... This is the worst experience I've had in a restaurant. Go to pinstripes next-door much better food and service.
My boyfriend and I have eaten here a few times with family and by ourselves. We really love Belcampo! I have a nut allergy and they are always so accommodating and knowledgeable about the menu. I feel safe eating here, unlike many restaurants. I believe it's their manager, who comes and greets and goes over the menu after I mention my allergies. I really appreciate their commitment to their customers. The food is great and so is the staff.

The French fries were absolutely amazing! My friend liked her burger. I had a steak salad and it was pretty good. I think I will get the burger next time. My friend had the gyro plate and it was only OK, a little watery.
