Nice coffee shop in downtown San Mateo! This is their second location in San Mateo, and it’s noticeably larger than the other one. There’s plenty of seating, making it a great spot to hang out with friends or meet up in a group. The interior is clean and bright, with lots of glass windows that bring in natural light and give the space an open, welcoming vibe. They’re currently featuring seasonal drinks like the cherry blossom matcha latte and cherry blossom latte. We ordered both, along with a pour over coffee, matcha pound cake, and avocado toast. Overall, everything was good. The cherry blossom drinks were good and nicely balanced, and the food paired well with our drinks. The only downside was that the drip/pour over coffee took a while to come out. Other than that, it was a pleasant experience, and I’d come back again to relax or catch up with friends.

I ordered Capuccino! Coffee I make at home with a cheap Breville machine and good beans is 10x better! It’s sad to see good coffee beans and LaMarzocco getting wasted here. I guess their competition is Starbucks which makes sense!

Not a fan of the new coffee shop rules implemented by the new manager John DeGuzman, as result today my barista informed in my Nola iced coffee burlee with oat milk- no longer being available at this location (but I can order it at other blue bottles which makes no sense) The barrista informed me after I ordered it and she was making my drink that she couldn’t make it for me as she was making it. I didn’t know what to say other than I guess to cancel my order. I ask the other employee working why I couldn’t have the same drink I’ve been ordering for years isn’t an option anymore. (Since June of this year intermittently employees will not want to make my drink bc they are told they can’t). I considered myself a regular since I frequenting this store daily since they opened and it across the street in my neighborhood.
If I am made to feel this uncomfortable I can’t see how others don’t feel the same or worse. Not what you expect from a coffee shop at all. Do not recommend coming here especially if it’s your first time.

I came to this location during my drive back down to socal. The store opens at 530am on monday and online ordering was available, at 550am the store was still closed. I saw an employee sitting in there and when I walked towards the door, they went to the back and never came back out. The doors were locked. The phone was not turned on to business hours. Someone else also came to get coffee and left upset, we waited about 5 or so minutes, but no one came so we eventually left.

Waffle and coffee was tasty, but what sort of coffee shop doesn’t have outlets? Came to a coffee shop to specifically work on my computer, but no access to outlets foiled my plans. So I would not recommend coming here to work or study.
