I usually crave bold and spicy flavors and the Kadapa Karam Dosa at Dosa Express totally hit the spot! 🔥
It’s perfectly spicy, super flavorful, and genuinely satisfying if you love that extra kick. The dosa was crispy and fresh, and the karam spice just takes it to another level. Honestly, one of the best spicy dosas I’ve had in the Bay Area. Highly recommend for spice lovers!

Place was smelling bad. Dosa, idli and vadai all tasted below average.

Very sorry to say that this is the worst Indian restaurant I have been to in Bay area.
15 mins to give menu
25 mins to take order
Unfortunately Idly came out cold
Food is on the table and No spoons were given for 5 mins.
I am still wondering how can a restaurant not have coffee in the morning? 😭
Definitely not my bad day. It’s the way this restaurant works.
Sorry guys, you are in San Mateo you need to upscale and you are not in The game at all.

Great food! My husband relished the chicken biryani and I loved the dosa - sambar was to my taste so that was nice!

Horrible service, it is like we need to beg them and wait for the service.

It was an accidental but very pleasant stop on our way back home. Food was tasty. We ordered roast masala dosa and egg curry. Very humble owner. We asked to move to patio. They set new table for us. We asked for few things that weren’t on menu. They asked for feedback where they could improve.

We got chicken 65 and Gobi 65 which were really tasty. They made us wait for about 30 mins though but they made up for it with free gulag jamun. BUT we explicitly asked him if the chicken and Gobi 65 were dry (like Tamil Nadu style) and the waiter said yes. But they were sort of like a dry gravy. Still good, just wasn’t TN style.

TL;DR: If dosa(e) is staple food for you, don’t waste your time and money.
If you somehow still end up here, at the least, do not order the Pineapple Kesari. Chances are it might be served cold!

Restaurantji Recommends
Food was good and fresh. The only restaurant in the area which was open at 9am. Staff people were also friendly.

We tried Uggani bajji. It takes okaish. This place has lost its charm. It used to be crowded when they opened it 2 years back. Now on a weekend it's hardly people in there.
Excellent South Indian food - highly recommend.
Delicious and huge portions with a variety of flavors.
Very good food and very accommodative of food requests
