The food and service here were INCREDIBLE! This modern Chinese themed restaurant combines fresh, tasty food with high-class service. I highly recommend the pork soup dumplings and the Dan Dan noodles. The wait for a group of 4 is about 20 minutes but is definitely worth it. If you're looking for a place to grab some delicious Chinese food at a reasonable price, this is definitely the spot.

We ordered take out.Pan fried ground beef cake - delicious and meat is so flavorful and juicy. It was still crispy even after we brought it home.Dan Dan noodle- flavorful, with that signature numbing spice. Just the right amount of vinegar. Wish it had ground pork with it.Beef stew noodle soup - The braised beef was very tender. The noodles were QQ. A comfort noodle soup.Non-Spicy beef pancake roll - the only one we didn't care for. Beef is dry, like a shaved cured meat which we don't prefer. Pancake was kind of dry and not crispy.

Dropped by for late lunch with no wait. The service was very attentive. Our group thought the dishes looked really small and a little on the expensive side, but the food was excellent and actually filling. The XLB had a very thin skin and lots of soup inside. The fried buns, the pan fried dumplings, and the beef dry noodle were all flavorful. Beef pancake roll also had lots of beef and green onions. deHighly recommend.Parking: depends on the time of day. can often score parking spot on the street

On March 15 11:30am I decided to try this place. I love trying new culture food. When I arrived No one was there it was empty. I placed my order to dine in on a piece of paper. I noticed people started coming in a minutes later and I see other people receive their food. I'm still waiting for the food to arrive. No one has came to check on my table. After a a long time I kindly asked the waiter who has glasses "I've noticed other people receive their food and I was here first when it was empty" he then went to go check. Come to find out my order was never made. My order was just not that important I guess to make as a first customer at the restaurant when it was EMPTY. Obviously I felt upset so I walked out of the restaurant. I wasn't going to wait another 25 minutes for my food there. So sad that I decided to try a new place when it was empty to feel unwelcome. Decided to go to “Taishoken” a block down where I felt welcomed and my order was made to dine in and was ready less than 10 minutes with customers out the door! Waiters and workers at Taishoken sure know how to greet people with kindness and they also go over the menu with you as a first time customer. Do better “dough zone”.

This is the best Dough Zone I have been to. Been to the one in SJ and Cupertino but this place is great!

The combo for lunch is a very good deal. The dan dan noodles have a really good texture and flavor, and the dumplings are juicy and delicious. I highly recommend giving this place a try. I can't wait to go back and try more of their food.

My friends and I ordered a few items and everything that we ordered was really good. We ordered the beef noodle soup, the noodles with onion soy sauce, green onion pancake, pork wonton and chicken broth and a few other items. Everything was really good. I love the space because it is modern and really big and can accommodate big groups

Solid place for pork dumplings, xiaolong bao, and spicy Dan Dan noodles. Broccoli are large pieces and tend to be very bland, though. Overall a good place and great addition to downtown San Mateo!

Food- we ordered beef noodles soup and jiang jiang noodles, both are just so so, the portions are small and not that tasty (we have been to so many noodle and dumpling places around the area). We also order the Q bao since it showed up as popular, but after we finished two noodles bowls, the bao finally came (and this is on a slow rainy day on Wednesday so it’s not even busy inside). The baos are dry and not moist or juicy like other places, actually very doughy taste and tastes like a frozen ones. We will not be coming back here.Service- it was also okay- they ignored our requests on sitting further away because of our toddler. Service is also a bit slow.
