But however after my order was to be ready for pickup in 25 minutes, I went to the restaurant and not only was it closed and not a single employee inside the front doors were locked and blocked by ladders inside like they were doing some kind of construction or remodeling. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS PLACE!!!

Probably exactly what you'd expect from a Chicago dog. Of course -- this was the first time I've ever eaten one, and certainly I've never been in Chicago. Don't order through yelp or they'll charge four dollars extra. Otherwise, great deal for food. Good tasting dogs, awesome buns.

I went here on a Saturday because I was craving a hot dog and honestly there's not a lot of places with hot dogs. I ended up ordering a polish sausage. I didn't know it would come with fries so that was a nice addition. It was my first time having a poppyseed bun with my polish sausage. Food was great, owner is hilarious. If you're up for a chill owner and you aren't an uptight person, you'll love this place. If you're entitled you probably won't enjoy the meal or the service. P.S. I called at 11:30 to ensure fletch would be open And they said "hurry up we are onlyOpen another couple of hours So I said okHubby and I got there at 12:20He was closed but somebody was inside and I told him I called and he said well I just turnoff everythingIt will take another 40minutes for the grill to be readySo I just told him never mindBut this is not a way to run a business If you are open to a certain time you should stay open till that time

Feels like I'm back in Chicago! The dogs are great! The Italian beef sandwiches are great! Tiny little spot, which is easy to miss. Go support these guys! We need more of this kind business. The owner is great to chat with too! Haha

We love Fletch's. If you are from Chicago you need to go get an authentic Chicago Dog as the owner is from Chicago. If you are a Cubs fan you will love the interior :). Fletch is a great guy and the food is delicious.

Recently I saw an ad in the Daily Journal for Family Pack Dinners at Fletch's. I noticed a Pork Chop dinner (6 chops) that serves 5-8 for $50. I decided to support my local small businesses and ordered. Mash potatoes, brussel sprouts with bacon and grilled asparagus were optional sides for $9 each. Ordered all three sides. I didn't know that two sides were included in the dinner! I only paid for one side dish. This is a GREAT DEAL! The breaded chops were thick, tender and delicious! The side dishes were fabulous. This was better than a HOME COOKED MEAL!!!! I had a time constraint on my pick-up day, so Fletch offered to open up a half hour early. I'm excited to try Fletch's other Family Pack Dinners. (Prime Rib Dinner $80 & Pulled Pork $40) Note Prime Rib requires a 24 hour notice. This place is known for their hot dogs, so who would have known these dinner specials exist if I hadn't seen the AD in the Daily Journal! Fletch is very accommodating and pleasant, a "genuine gem" in downtown San Mateo. Enjoy! Wayne

Drove 20 miles to finally try the Chicago style hot dog and the Chicago style beef sandwich and was very disappointed. Didn’t have the neon green relish, no problem, but no tomatoes or sport peppers, problem. No beef sandwich or french fries either. Got tater tots with my hot dog because they didn’t have french fries, what!? One disappointment after another. Only open a couple days a week and when they are finally open, they didn’t even have the few things they offer on their menu. Hopefully this was just a temporary glitch and the problem has been addressed and fixed.

Tiny, but where else can you get an Italian Beef sandwich (and a good one!). But, over and over I hear: why can't I buy it (or a hotdog) *without* fries. A larger soft drink selection would be nice to have.
