Delicious food you won't find anywhere else (except maybe India?) at a very reasonable price. Truly enjoyed eating here. The chef is also a very sweet person and community builder who takes great pride in his food. If you're in San Mateo don't miss this place!

This is an amazingly exceptional spot - food was absolutely flavorful: butter chicken and tadka dal were damn good. People are nice and you can tell they love cooking and serving.

Good food and good service. We had some kebabs, butter chicken ,garlic Naan, goat biryani and mango Lassi. Everything tasted good. The Garlic Naans were a bit too crispy for us since we like them soft. Overall good place to have Indian food

I went into this restaurant not really expecting too much, but I walked away pleasantly surprised! The service was very friendly and the food was amazing! Indian food is one of my favorites so it takes good food to impress me. For only being open a short while everything went smoothly. And the prices were reasonable $15 for a large meal is great these days. Would definitely recommend!

Best Indian food I have had in long time! We ordered dahi kebabs as appetizers which melted in the mouth. Paneer akbari was outright delicious and naan was crispy yet soft. Reminded me of authentic Desi food you get in restaurants in India. Hands down one of the best places for Indian food in the bay area. Ras Malai was delicious too, it was fresh and soft. The manager told me that they have evening buffets on Friday, Saturday and Sundays for $17, I will be going there quite often ?. Happy to finally find one place which serves authentic Indian food!

I went to Indian spice for dinner along with a friend and food was fantastic. Dessert was the best part of the entire meal. Rasmalai was so fresh and soft, it just melts in your mouth.

We went this restaurant on New year eve, all the food items were awesome. We can’t compromise the taste of goat biriyani and it was delicious. Chef Francis was so polite and his beetroot cutlet was the showstopper. If anybody going around that way , you can try this restaurant.

One of the newer Indian joints in the heart of San Mateo downtown. They do have great vegetarian options. The Hara Bhara kebab was slightly crispy and was a good combination with the chutneys. Our favourite was Akbari Paneer- smooth, creamy and the right amount of smokiness. Since they are a new restaurant, they are experimenting with different items so do ask for dishes (chef special) that may not be on the wall menu inside the restaurant. Their gulab jamun with sprinkled pistachios is also amazing. All this combined with friendly service made for a nice evening out.

The food is a California Indian fusion and the price is excellent especially given the pandemic (please folks tip well especially when a place has great prices).Everything had a really nice kick of picante spice to it. Too much for folks who only tolerate mild food and not enough for folks who prefer super hot food. But just enough to enhance the flavors, but not dominate them. It was well balanced. The fries had a sauce that tasted like a blend of garlic aioli, a nice hot sauce, and ketchup. We ended up enjoying the unexpected sweetness. The Kulcha was more than bread really - it was flavorful and nicely thick with peas and potatoes - it was basically appetizer level of satisfying. The rice was also nicely done. Basically they do great carbs. The entree I enjoyed enough that I'd get it again if in the area, but I did find it missing some sort of spark for a 5 - I think I found it a little bit too much oil, the vegetables a bit overcooked, but still a flavorful dish.We will definitely try them again at some point!
