Check the menu on the website before you go to see what to expect. We walked in expecting Japanese and looked at the menu and it reminded me of restaurants I've been to in Hong Kong where you can get all kinds of different things that are different from traditional Chinese food, which is fine.I like Chinese food as well however it's weird that the sign on the restaurant still says Japanese. I didn't see Japanese food on the menu. Maybe they have two menus?I rated this as four stars so as to not change the existing rating.

The Garlic Steak over Hashbrown doesn't sound like something you would get at a japanese restaurant. I didn't think so either but I've been proven wrong before. It works surprisingly well together and the onions give a good balance.Chicken Kara Age: nice light fry so it was still fairly juicy and after a squeeze of lemon it makes a great starter for a small group.Yaki Onigiri: nice crunch to the outside and paired well with seaweed and salmon. A good simple starter. Worth a try.Salmon Steak: I wished it was a little more flaky however it did taste fresh albeit a bit plain.Sumo Roll: Also Fresh with good knifework giving it a better texture. curious about the other rolls on the menu now...hmm..

After the owner changed, this place has gone down a lot in quality and completely changed the face of their store. The dipping ramen sauce has no flavor + a thick layer of oil on the top and the ramen soup is no different. Though the portions are well sized, it's not worth the price. Also, they no longer serve teriyaki, curry, and other Japanese dishes

This was a good restaurant before covid. Now, nope. Recently ordered lunch via DoorDash, and they cancel my order two days in a row. Besides, the menu is now very limited, and food are mediocre at best.

This used to be my favorite restaurant in general since I was a little kid. But after the pandemic, there must have been new owners and cooks, because they food was not nearly as good as it used to be. I’ve had to find another Japanese restaurant

Don't know the reason they can't serve hot food just sushi and sashimi. Just remember no food cooked by gas only electric stuff make it easy. Possible forget to pay gas bill. Ha ha ha. Good luck.

Was my go to Japanese restaurant but the last time we went about month ago, the lady Emma wasn’t there anymore and they had new people cooking so the food wasn’t the same. I think new owners? Prices were higher than before. So sad now have to find another Japanese restaurant close by.

Decided to give this place a try because I live across the street. I called in to order and apparently all the menus on their Yelp is from the old ownership. I asked them where I can find their online menu - "Uber eats"... I'm like uhh. Not on your website? "No" Ok. Food is ok. Update your online menu for takeout. PLEASE

The chicken kaarage curry was very tasty, and the sashimi meal was great with generous cuts of excellent quality fish. The staff was very friendly (only 3 tables late on Sunday) and will return when in the area. The prices were fair as well (curry about $15, meal about $26).

The spot looked unattractive from the outside but decided to give it a shot. The inside actually looks nice, not amazing but pretty nice, unfortunately that's where most of my positive points end. The food was pricy for the amount of fish I got. My roll was mostly rice, the fish slices were very very thin. My seaweed salad was tasty but again overpriced for what I got, I got charged almost double from what I usually see at other similar restaurants and the extra lo got was virtually just a little bit of lettuce under my actual seaweed salad. So again, it felt like it was overpriced based on similar restaurants and me getting more filler than actual fish or the item I ordered. Hope they improve because I really don't like businesses going bust but if what we get is sub par but pricey, I would not recommend.

Looks like the good reviews are a few years old. Just had some very mediocre Japanese. Even a three star rated downtown Japanese restaurant is infinitely better than this one. I guess it was good pre pandemic but one thing is for one try is more than enough for us :(

The best kara tonkotsu Ramen in town, I believe

Ordered take-out. Waited 1:30 even though they said it would be ready in 30 minutes. Also the food didn’t match the order. Hard to communicate as well. I would just pick another nicer place.
