Closed during open hours. Phone rings dead. Drove up to find a dark restaurant. No notice of closure online.

Very friendly and good food. So happy with it / them that we ordered our Christmas Eve meal from them. Tea smoked duck was a hit with the kids

I tried few Chinese restaurants in San Mateo but this restaurant is my favorite restaurant from now on! It's very delicious and the portion is very generous. Even their complimentary egg drop soup was pretty yummy as well! I asked sesame chicken for tofu(vegetarian) and it was good but I want to eat at the restaurant next year for this menu. It was a bit soggy but very delicious!

JunYue is easy to ignore or overlook, but you'd be making a mistake. The food is absolutely awesome!! Plus they are friendly and kind. Special mention to the green onion pancakes, the eggplant in garlic sauce and the egg flower soup. Really delicious!! Easy parking on a very quiet street makes it easy. Try them!!

I've always had a soft spot for take-out Chinese and this place really nails it with generous portions. This isn't the usual fast take-out as demonstrated by the real zest you find in the Sesame Chicken or Lemon Chicken. We go for the Shrimp Chow Mein (so many noodles) and Combo Fried Rice for carbs - can't go wrong with either. Then, we finish with Fried Green Beans, the two aforementioned chicken dishes, and sometimes the BBQ Spare Ribs. Both times, they've given either free hot & sour soup or a pumpkin (maybe?) coconut sago dessert.

I found this place last week, we tried it because it was super close to home and open at 4:00 in the afternoon. I am so glad we tried JunYue because the food is amazing. We ordered the Mongolian Beef, Veggie fried rice and chicken chow mein. Everything was so good we had some left overs that we finished the next day and we never do that, usually just toss out any left over Chinese food. I can't wait to go back, if you are looking for some delicious food look no further go here and you won't regret it.

Great delivery experience. Ordered on Yelp and the food arrived in about 30 minutes. I would say this is a superior option for when you're craving American style Chinese food (I have not ordered any of their traditional Chinese dishes yet). The food is overall great quality and juuuust greasy enough (but not too much) I would highly recommend this place. 4 stars only because the bok choy was overcooked and did not like the fried wonton so much. The orange chicken was good and so was the house made bbq pork chow mein.

This review is for take out food only... We have been going to this restaurant location for over 16 years. For quite a long time it was Lucky Dragon and the food wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. We basically went there because it was easy, convenient, and hassle free parking. A few years ago Lucky Dragon was sold and since then, the restaurant has changed hands and the food was not remarkable. Since it has become JunYue it is now our #1 spot to go for Chinese food. Besides the reasons mentioned above, the price is reasonable, the portions are large and the food is delicious. We love the soups war wonton filled with both veggies and wontons. Hot and Sour also Creamed Corn with Chicken was excellent and stayed hot for takeout. Extensive lunch menu, and generally makes two meals. So happy to have stuck with this location and the previous owners because now they have gotten it right. Highly recommend JunYue!

JunYue has been our go-to for Chinese food in our neighborhood! We particularly enjoy their general chicken, tea smoked duck, soup dumplings, and sizzling rice soup. The people at JunYue are super nice and friendly as well. They are open for takeout during the current situation.

Located off of Palm Avenue a few blocks behind Safeway in San Mateo, JunYue is a small, hole in the wall Chinese resturant. We did takeout and didnt order anything too crazy..Lemon Chicken, Mu Shu Pork, Crispy Pan Fried Noodles, Salt & Pepper Pork Chops and Minced Chicken in Lettuce Cups. The lemon Chicken was ok, not great but not bad. The Mu Shu Pork was pretty good, what we would expect. The S&P Pork Chops were a little salty but good. The Crispy Pan Fried Noodles were good, not great and the Minced Chicken was probably our favorite. We would eat here again.

I ordered take out from this restaurant for a night in. They have a variety of dishes from noodles to walnut shrimp, fried rice and dim sum. The price is reasonable for what you get. I think that compared to other Chinese restaurants the portions are a bit smaller. I ordered through the Yelp App and I liked how the amount of dim sum servings were specified per order. The shui mai was juicy and delicious. The BBQ pork steamed buns had a good portion of meat filling and not too much dough. The walnut shrimp and garlic eggplant tasted good. The scallion pancakes had a heavy amount of pepper in them. Additionally, I was not the biggest fan of the fried pumpkin as it was too salty.
