The food was delicious! An extensive menu that satisfied our Mediterranean hunger pains. Generous portions, great prices, and friendly service. we can't wait to return!

The food and service are great! I love the dolma and soups and my boyfriend gets the gyros and wraps, it’s a lot of food for the price :)

The food here is always fresh and delicious, and the perfect amount! We've come here a few times, usually for takeout but the outdoor dining is nice too.

Excellent gyro wrap with a good balance of meat, fries, veggies and sauce. Hits the spot every time!

(Note: review written during COVID-19) Ordered a falafel wrap for lunch. The wrap was ok and a bit bland and dry - falafel wasn't super crunchy, and wasn't really sure how fresh it was. They also served it with a hot sauce on the side, which tasted closer to ketchup than a hot sauce. Would've appreciated something a bit spicier like a harissa or other gyro-shop hot sauce.

The online ordering system wasn't working, so we tried to call in to place our order around 6:00 PM. The phone number listed on their website went straight to an answering machine. The number listed on their Facebook page rang indefinitely. We gave up, thinking the restaurant had closed for a winter break. The next day, I walked past and the restaurant was open. When I explained to the man working there that we were unable to place an order at all the previous night, he insisted they were open at that time, the phone numbers were correct, and the online ordering system was functional. He acted as if *I* was the one who was at fault. That evening, I walked past the storefront around 6:00 PM and the place was "closed until further notice". I felt vindicated. It seems like their evening hours are inconsistent and/or the evening shift worker isn't showing up. But that does not give them the right to treat me like an idiot for not being able to place a dinner order. TLDR: hours are inconsistent and ordering from home is near impossible.

I know what defines spanakopita, and unfortunately, this is a simple Goya vegetable Patty, the dough was not with the traditional ingredients. I reiterate this is a Goya empanada.

Nothing is as what it seems. While we were in San Mateo a few weeks ago, I was thinking of grabbing a bite from this new place and checking the ratings at a glance finalized my decision. I checked the menu posted on the door and I quickly decided on the Lamb & Beef Gyro. The menu did say it comes with tomatoes, onions, Tzatziki sauce and French fries. The guy who was helping me was quite nice and then went to the back (assuming to make my order) then came out approximately 10 minutes later and handed me the order. I went to my car and when I opened the container, I was initially pleased as the gyro looked like it was full of meat. However, after a few bites, I quickly realized that the meat were mostly on top and the sides to give it an illusion that it was packed with the meat. The majority of the gyro contained fries. It already came with a side of fries and to have fries as the major filler hidden inside the gyro made me feel like I've been had. It made me immediately recount of this commercial: youtube.com/watch?v=Ug75… Yeah, "Where's the beef?" I felt gypped. Also the meat was cut so thin that I was craving more food after I finished the darn thing. Satisfied, I was not. #YelpChallenge2020 review No. 66

3.5 , mixed feelings on this one. Let me start off with the good. The workers are very welcoming and helpful with ordering; and the place is located in a popular convenient street. The prices are reasonable and they give a good amount of food. We ordered the chicken and lamb plates. They both came with pita and hummus which were great. The hummus was creamy and pita was tender with slight outer crisp. I love lamb and unfortunately, I was a little disappointed. The lamb seemed flat , kinda dry, and not to its fullest flavors. Chicken was much more tender and juicy. Maybe I was hoping for some pizzazz since Greek food can be so flavorful. Overall - friendly, quick service and convenient; okay food

My husband and I stumbled upon here as the place we originally wanted to eat at turned out to be closed. The outdoor dining area looked inviting and so we decided to give it a try. The service was excellent but the food itself was average (more like 3.5 stars to be exact). We ordered: -hummus appetizer: hummus itself was mediocre, but the pita bread was very warm and soft. The server even gave us extra pita because we like it so much! -lamb/beef gyro: huge portion and very filling, but the meat was a bit dry and it definitely needed some sauce to spruce it up. -fish & chips: skip this, I even warned my husband that his eyes were a lot hungrier than his stomach. I rather eat Trader Joe's frozen fish filets! -Greek fries: interesting combinations of tzaziki and dill seasoned over a mound of fries, this is definitely more of a bar food than it was lunch! -chocolate baklava: this was on the house, courtesy of our server who i think might be one of the owners (Scott? I think was his name). It was different but good, the cocoa kind of had a bitter taste so I think it may have been acquired for me to enjoy. I wouldn't mind coming back to try other items (sticking with the strictly Greek items though). But more so for a date night because of the pub/bar food feels this place has.

I really wanted to like this place :( I didn't enjoy the food but their interior decoration and vibe was very nice. The staff was friendly and there was chill Greek music playing on the speakers. I had the chicken gyro. Personally I didn't really like it because it tasted like rotisserie chicken that was a bit dry and old. The white onion ratio was kind of wild (there were a ton of onions!) and not a lot of lettuce. A few small slices of tomato and 1 cucumber slice was in the wrap. The pita bread was nice, a soft inside while having a crunchy/solid outer shell. The tzatziki was sadly watered down. I feel like as a whole the flavors did not do it for me at all. It was a letdown of a gyro.

Another underrated cheap eat around town!! Loved this place so much Location - right near the theatre, they offer outdoor seating during COVID. However, there is no light lol so I'd suggest coming during the day! Service - very friendly, but not as tentative. No water until asked and no plates. But I get it, this is probably more of a grab and go place! Taste - everything we ordered was absolutely amazing and I strongly recommend the ALEXANDER KEBAB ($16)!!!!! It was life changing and paired perfectly with some pita bread and yogurt sauce! The plate had a thick layer of cooked pita bread cubes at the bottom, soft and bathed in the sauce. The chicken gyro was massive, the falafels were crispy and affordable ($5). Legit can't wait to be back for another plate of the Alexander Kebab!

Every Friday my toddler and I try a new place for lunch on our Mommy & Me adventures. This week we happened upon Downtown San Mateo and Kostantis' strong reviews on Yelp caught my eye.I had originally planned to get takeout and eat at the local park, but as I was doing some shopping at a nearby bakery, I noticed that Kostantis had a lot of both indoor and outdoor seating available and the atmosphere looked most inviting, so we opted to eat there instead. The staff member who greeted us informed us that we could sit anywhere inside or outside. We opted for outside. She then brought out a menu and asked me if I would like a highchair for my son - this is the first establishment in all of my dining out experiences during COVID that has offered us a highchair. When she came back for my order, she also brought over a paper placemat, utensils (fork and knife) wrapped around a paper napkin, a cup of water, and a ketchup bottle. She also brought an extra spoon for to feed my son per my request. She also asked if I would like a seperate glass of water for my son.Within a few minutes, my order (lamb & beef gyro plate) arrived. The plate was heaping with a generous serving of gyro, rice pilaf, mediterranean salad, hummus, tzatziki, and a side basket of pita. Not bad for $15! My toddler got to have his first taste of hummus which he quite liked, and I basically inhaled the rest of the food. It was really delicious and one of the better greek/mediterranean places I've been to. If you've ever been to any establishment in Greektown in downtown Detroit, today's experience was comparable and made me really nostalgic.Aside from the great food, I want to say thank you to the amazing staff (who all wore masks) - you guys made our experience warm and welcoming, checked in on us once in a while to make sure everything was great, and was super sweet and considerate of my toddler's dining experience. The high ratings for this place are well deserved, and I'm happy to add one more raving review. Will definitely be back!
