Las Palomas Taqueria is a highly recommended spot in Downtown San Mateo, serving excellent food at decent prices. The menu boasts a wide variety of options, including delicious burritos, enchiladas, Caldo de Res, and Carne asada & shrimp quesadilla, all made with fresh ingredients and flavorful seasonings. The restaurant offers a massive space with tasteful decor, perfect for morning, noon, and night visits. The staff is courteous and kind, providing quick service. To complement the meal, the taqueria offers a big selection of salsas, including an awesome salsa bar, and delicious horchata. The asada had perfect flavor, and the sauce was absolutely delicious. The chips were also really good and unlimited. The family is still here cooking and serving, and they’ve been around for at least 25 years. Las Palomas is a San Mateo establishment, now in a big and clean new location.
