mediocre food that gets made incorrectly twice and rude teenage wait staff. who tells a customer to “get it together” bc they forgot their phone ? don’t bother with their new green goddess salad - they don’t how to make it… twice … fyi our bill was $183 - and then to be spoken to like that - we work hard for our dinners out

I visited their South Bay location a few years ago and really enjoyed the Bison Burger. With this new location in San Mateo, I decided to try something new and was sadly disappointed. They have an expensive menu, but the prices don't reflect the quality nor portions of the food. I had the Fried Chicken Sandwich for $20 and it was quite small. I paid an extra $2.50 for a side of their sweet potato tots and once more, it looked like I ordered from a children's menu as I could count the number of tots provided. My friend had the chicken pot pie and found it quite unappetizing as it lacked flavor. The drinks also left a lot to be imagined. Both the strawberry lemonade and the pineapple coconut agua fresca were too sweet and not worth the cost of $6+While the service is good and our server checked in with us constantly and they have a nice outdoor patio to dine in, I was still hungry after my "full meal"

Holy smokes, just had the worst dining experience at Lazy Dog today. I’ve been a customer since they opened the San Mateo location and while the service has never been great, today’s was a new level of disappointment.1. Quoted us 35 min wait and it was over 50 mins. Generally this would have been ok, but we had 3 children under 3 and they were hangry. Had I known it was going to take nearly an hour to get seated, we would have eaten somewhere else.2. Sat down for over 10 mins and had to actually flag down our waiter twice for him to take our order. Waiter took our order and was not friendly at all (not a must, but a compounding negative to the overall dining experience).3. Out of a party of 9 (6 adults and 3 toddlers), got 3 orders wrong. 1 dish came 15 mins late after the rest of the party basically already finished eating. My husband and I both upgraded my burger with Cajun fries and neither came out with Cajun fries. I asked my waiter to cancel my Cajun but he brought it out anyway and charged us.4. I asked to speak to the manager to share feedback with her. She listened and said she will go speak to the kitchen and whomever else. She didn’t circle back to address our concerns.I don’t have super high expectations for restaurants but this was just a miss on all fronts. Giving 2 stars because food was decent and at least they brought out the kids meals first.

Great place to come after work to unwind. Happy hour is great and how can we resist the goat cheese and pepper jelly spread; it is addictive and we order it every time. They old fashioneds with or without the candied bacon are awesome. Our tea toddler friends seem to be satisfied with the mock tails and the ginger beer. Food wise, they have a quite a spread of offerings and when I'm in my vegetarian mode, I get the beet balls with spaghetti squash. The servings are big and can be split as they're good enough for two.

Nice place. Good beer. Fast service. Special? Not really.Just really standard on the food options. It's an easy place to take groups of people, or having a family dinner night. Happy hour was good ?We will have to try again some time, maybe we will ask what should be tried in case we missed something that they do special.

First time eating here,a bit expensive, quite a long wait and bit loud atmosphere. I probably won't eat here again, but there did seem to be quite a bit of families. So I think it's nice if you have children.Parking: Shopping area parkingKid-friendliness: There's seemed to be quite a few families with small children.Wheelchair accessibility: They have tables, that allow wheelchair access.
