What a wonderful surprise! I needed gluten free bakery goods, and Lolita Artisanal bakery came through with many choices. The Argentinian Alfjores were a huge hit, as was the amazing gluten free coconut macaroons. Definitely check this cafe out!

Stopped here to get coffee. The service is really friendly and they have interesting pastries. We got a lemon bar, which was really good. The empanadas caught my eye--perhaps another time. They also sell boxes of frozen empanadas to make at home. It was really quiet on Sunday morning. There was one person there working on their laptop, probably because it's easy to focus without distractions.
Lolita's is a hidden gem in San Mateo, a good place to get coffee and pastries from Argentina, if you love dulce de leche, this is the place for you. They have savory empanadas. Great service. They have parking in the back. This is a small cozy spot.
