Found this absolute gem while looking for a quick bite! The hand-tossed crust was perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The toppings were incredibly fresh and loaded to the edge. The staff greeted us with smiles, and the service was surprisingly fast for a busy night. Great value for the price—we’ll definitely be back!

We were very excited to order from this place as the reviews are awesome, but we unfortunately didn’t think the food live up to the hype. We ordered a couple of pizzas (one four cheese the other was a Mateos special), their traditional turkish Lahmacun and a roast beef flatbread. On the positive side, the ingredients seemed to be of good quality and the four cheese pizza in particular was tasty, the issue is that everything else fell flat. The crusts for everything were way too thin, and on the pizzas not exactly pleasant to bite/eat on on their own, the pizzas barely had any sauce on them so it just felt like eating flatbreads with very little toppings scattered across them. The other two dishes were very forgettable. The boxes with the food were so light that just by holding them I’d think they were empty. I guess my main issue is that for how much we paid we could’ve eaten more and better elsewhere, not a good cost/benefit restaurant.

I drove about 35 minutes to try Mateo Pizza, and it was absolutely worth it.
This is a halal Turkish pizza spot, and from the first bite, the food was excellent. Everything tasted fresh, well seasoned, and clearly made with care. You can tell they are serious about quality, not just filling you up.
What really stood out, though, was the hospitality. The owner and the staff were genuinely welcoming, friendly, and proud of what they do. It felt personal in a way that’s rare, especially in the Bay Area. They took the time to make sure everything was right, and that goes a long way.
For me, the most important part is that they bring real Middle Eastern flavor to Silicon Valley. That authentic taste is something I’ve missed since moving to the Bay Area, and Mateo Pizza delivered it perfectly.
Great food, great people, and a place I’ll gladly drive out of my way to visit again. Highly recommended.
