Good old fashioned Vietnamese food

Need more chillies but otherwise it was very good.

Best banh mi I've found in California. Very high quality and delicious, with lots of options. The service is fast and friendly as well. I highly recommend it! It's primarily for takeaway, but there is one small two seater table in front.

Absolutely delicious pork banh mi but really small portions. Both the sandwich and the chips. I feel like I would have needed two of them to not still be hungry.

Maybe I just caught them on a bad day, but for $15 I was not expecting such a small amount. I will try again because it was really tasty.

My favorite food place in downtown San Mateo. Excellent banh mi, great spring rolls when I'm in the mood for that instead, fast, and very reliable. I have been coming here regularly for over seven years now and I have never had a bad sandwich. I particularly recommend the special, original, or lemongrass beef, but there are also vegetarian selections.

Usually the sandwich is ready within a minute or two, and even during the lunch rush, I've never had to wait for more than five or ten minutes, with uniformly excellent and friendly service.

The restaurant is just an order and pick-up window and there isn't much outdoor seating, so plan to pick up a sandwich and find somewhere else to eat if there during a busy time.

I got the tofu Banh MI today and it was so delicious. This place is only takeout but the food is excellent!! Will come again!

This is take-out only. Sandwiches are very good but I've had better bread.

We stopped in on a fluke because my sister and I were looking for a banh mi sandwich and thought we would try this place. LOVELY sandwich (we ordered the shredded chicken) and it was absolutely perfect! Perfect bread to filling ratio and the ordering was so quick! Fresh flavors and crunchy veggie interior with perfectly seasoned shredded chicken. We'll definitely go back and try other items on their menu.

The Special Bahn Mi was delicious. 10/10.

Great banh mi, and the Vietnamese coffee is better than any place I’ve been in the Bay. Prices are good and my food is always served quickly

The best bahn mi in the peninsula and debatably in the bay. I didn’t want to leave a review; because I wanted it to stay a hidden gem but now that I am moving out of San Mateo I will. Please try the grilled pork with pate, it’s the most popular one.
