Solid place to get a nice bowl of soup. It might’ve just been the dish we ordered, but this time we got a really large bowl of noodles and soup when we ordered their Signature Beef Rib Flat Noodle. But it was great value and was tasty. It’s definitely a bit salty, but that is to be expected and it was still savory.

The service was good. We got our check promptly and they gave us boxes when requested to pack up the leftovers.

The inside is new and modern. I like how they mix the modern styling with Chinese fixtures so it feels like you’re still in a Chinese restaurant—just renovated.

Parking: We parked at a lot nearby.

I come to this noodles place from time to time. Staff is usually friendly and very attentive. I usually order the Beef ramen (spicy version) from the crafted combos. It’s delicious, if you can handle the heat. I know there’s a lot of ramen places downtown but for me this is the go to spot when I am craving ramen or noodle’s.

Pretty average noodle soup, at relatively steep prices. I got the spicy broth with sliced beef, thick brisket, and shitake mushrooms. It came with pretty small quantities of beef, mushrooms, and noodles. The broth was spicy with a hint of numbing spice, but overall nothing special. Could be a good place if you really enjoy customizing your soup, but I will not return.

My recent dining experience at Noodle&Things San Mateo was underwhelming. The food was just okay, but the soup was excessively salty. This restaurant is not suitable for families with young children, as their presence seemed unwelcome (When my child used a few extra napkins to wipe the water on the table, he pointed at us and muttered under his breath, and even rolled his eyes). Furthermore, the staff, including both a man and a woman, were unpleasant and rude. Their demeanor was off-putting and made us feel unwelcome, which seriously detracted from our meal. I would not recommend this restaurant, as there are better options available where the food and atmosphere are more enjoyable.

We went to the area with the intent of going to a specific restaurant but that place happened to be closed at the time so we started looking for an alternative. It was serendipitous that we ended up at Noodles and Things.

Service was very efficient. Once you are seated, water is provided. From the QR code on your table, you can choose your food from the menu and order directly even without the assistance of your waiter/waitress. For the quality of food served, it was a surprise they prepared it so quickly.

Food was amazingly delicious. Their soup had so much meat and portions are huge we ended up asking for take out boxes. The soup is rich, flavorful and divine. The meat is so tender and luscious, the veggies are tasty and fresh.

The four of us each ordered different kinds of soup with one appetizer and our total was just below a $100 including tip.

Highly recommended if you're craving for Asian soup. Five stars all the way!!

I would choose Zhang Liang Malatang over this place any time. The chicken soup is tasteless and the $8.99 cucumber is just overpriced for what is being served.

Great spot for noodles. The beef noodles has some authentic high quality cuts of beef that no other restaurant in the Bay, at this price point, serves.
