This is a fun no frills Irish bar with tons of regulars. Enjoy trivia on Wednesday nights at 8pm, or come in for a weeknight Guinness. Sometimes there's a food truck out front, or you can visit George's next door and they will bring it over to you. You can also bring in food. My favorite is the Calisqueeze on tap.

the worse bar in san Mateo. welcome in ! shitty beer, bad customer service , even worse environment. aggressive customers and the list goes on. Hight prices for shitty beer and liquors. feel free to visit and waste your money they have like 3 locations doing these so. you have plenty on place to waste your money "Irish" style/ XD

We came on a Saturday and it was a super fun karaoke night. The energy was up and the crowd was vibing. Beers were only about $6! A must come for a quick drink or even a night out

Typical old school Irish bar. If you're looking to go to a no frills Irish bar where you can get your drink on, this is the place

Service was great. Beer was good. Music was playing. No food options. I didmt hear any happy hour choices either. If your in the market for a cold beer, this could be the place for you.

Fantastic Irish bar in downtown San Mateo. Best Guinness pour in the bay! Enjoyed Sunday football on their multiple TVs in the pub. Loved that Jeffery's burgers serves food to you in the bar! Recently enjoyed trivia which is every Wednesday.

Stumbled upon O'Neill's Irish Pub after dinner in downtown San Mateo when my friends and I were looking for a second location to keep the night going. Lucky for us, it just so happened to be karaoke night (Saturday at around 9 PM)! They checked our IDs at the door and we settled at one of their larger tables for our group of 8. As some of our group went up to the bar to get drinks, they got started on the music. I appreciated that the DJ started the karaoke night off with group songs. They had so many mics and were handing them out to the different groups so everyone could sing along from their tables. After 3-5 group songs that everyone loved and could sing along to, they started to take requests for solo singers. It was fun to see individual singers go up to their "stage" area to sing their songs of choice. Now, I will say, the crowd and vibe was more of a rap/hip hop/alternative rock karaoke with a couple 80s/90s pop songs sprinkled in between. So... if showtunes or ballads or current pop is more your vibe, might have to check out another bar. Or maybe it was just the crowd that night. Either way, it was all a great time and everyone was having fun. No one was being sloppy or annoying and the DJ kept the party going. A great bar if you're a large group looking for plenty of seating and good drinks!

Pretty standard Irish pub with a good selection of beers on tap and friendly staff. The main highlight of this place is the Wednesday Night Trivia nights, which has been my favorite trivia in the area this far! One downside is cleanliness, especially in the bathrooms (I don't know who thought putting the toilet in the same open room as the urinal stalls was a good idea, but it was certainly not).

Honestly, as a beginning patron at this establishment, I found the size and friendliness of this Irish pub substantially welcoming ??(that's a two thumbs up). Surviving the restrictions of covid, we all had to make allowances regarding dining. So getting there with some streets still blocked off in San Mateo(to better the businesses survival of our industries) it may take you a few twists and turns to get there so DON'T GIVE UP if your GPS tells you to take a turn and you find it has blockades... Just go another block or two down and you'll find yourself on the right street. Parking is a little strained... But the secret is there a little alley directly across the street from the front door and there's a number of slots avail at NO COST! On Tuesday nights they have an amazing kareoke event, but be prepared to get on the waiting list as my last experience it was pretty much packed... Which I dig cuz the audience participation was like a community. The bartender ALWAYS replaced your glass with a fresh chilled pint glass when you're trying one of their many flavors of draught on tap and was always on duty ready to serve his patrons. Friendly, warm and inviting. I take enjoyed myself and have returned since then. Prices are very fair. I suggest trying the Cali Squeeze on tap on a hot summer day. The essence of orange infused with a malt beverage is so refreshing on a warm day and doesn't seem so heavy when you're hot. I'll be returning.

Idk kind of a very regular, average Irish pub in the Bay Area? Clientele is exactly the same people you'd find at Molly's in downtown Mountain View. The cider was good. The women's bathroom is gross. The only reason I went to this spot is because I needed a place to be while I waited for the train. Otherwise, I'd totally overlook it. Boring.

My friend is a big fan of Irish pubs and we dropped by here recently. It is one of her favorite Irish pubs in the peninsula area. The night we dropped by had a DJ and live music, a small dance floor. It was probably too early and no one was dancing. A bit disappointing. Drinks are pretty good though. People are nice. The place is lively and very popular. But needs some maintenance. I am pretty sure that my friend will keep coming back. I likely will drop by here again with her. LoL
