We had a family function, and the dim sum was excellent!
It's a top notch restaurant, despite being "mall food".
Highly recommend that place.

My husband and I haven't been to this restaurant in a while and everything has changed. The delicious dishes are gone, replaced by expensive and unpalatable American Chinese food. It was very expensive and the two of us were shocked by the bill in the end. Mandatory 18% tip even if there are only two people. Tips and tax were $50. Will never come back to eat again. It tastes really bad. I hope you won’t come here.

Bad service
Was here today 11:30 am. The reception wearing black jacket service is bad, bad attitude the whole time.
Give us a table close to the door which is frozen cold and cannot switch to any other table, telling us they have full reservations if we want another table need to wait 45 min. But right after that, they seat another table next to us, which requested to switch table too. They just switch that table to a warmer position. We have a baby and cannot understand the unprofessional service of this place.
The Peking duck is a joy, worst one in Bay Area.
XLB is no juice at all, come with one up side down…
Price is 30 % more than those fancy dim-sun place in Bay Area. Will never come back

Everything else is fine, but how do you make every dish so beautiful yet so unpalatable, either salty or sweet...
This is the first time we have eaten sandy royal clams and sticky fried beef river in the Bay Area... I hope there will be less marketing on social platforms in the future and we will cook better.

I made a reservation yesterday for our family of 5- 3 adults and 2 kids. We ordered dumplings, crab fried rice, wagyu beef chowing, half duck, shrimp stuffed eggplants, and custard dumplings. The fried rice and duck tasted good. The shrimp stuffed eggplants were hard to chew since they put too much flour to make shrimp paste. It's disappointing that they automatically added 18% tip to our bill despite stating it in the menu that would only applicable to a party of 10.

Waiter would not cut the dim sum for us , claimed they didn't have scissors. What dim sum place doesn't have scissors to cut pieces to be shared??

Great atmosphere and delicious food, though a bit on the pricey side. I highly recommend the pork chop! They used to serve a soy sauce-based version, which I miss, but the salt and pepper pork chop is equally excellent. It’s tender, flavorful, and not overly fatty.

The caviar was not fresh, and had been sprinkled with vinegar to hide the lack of freshness. The food is also very salty. The very cool atmosphere with a koi pond built into the table made up for the disappointing food.

Food is good but pricey$$$
However.:..service is really bad and inattentive. They dont care for you or your experience.
AND they will add a mandatory 18% service charge for even a small party of 2.
But thats not all….they even charge sales tax on the Service charge.
So basically you are forced to pay 20% tip (total service charge + tax) for every order for a pathetic service.
Ruined our mood after the experience. Will not go again.

Wonderful restaurant for dim sum. Many unique dishes to choose from. Prices are a tad high, but the atmosphere and excellent service make up for it. Unlike many other dim sum restaurants, Palette Tea Garden accepts reservations.

The more people, the better the value! We usually spend around 200 for three people, but this time, with 11 of us, it was only about 850ish. + they have good crab fried rice
