Got take out from Peking Alley today because we wanted to try some of the weekend specials. The only dish we liked was the eggplant. The worst was the sesame bun with beef. The beef was good but the bun was the most horrible thing we've ever tasted from any restaurant. Couldn't even finish a bite. Had to spit it out. It was dry and hard with unappetizing dark brown colored dough swirled in. If we were in the restaurant, we would have sent it back. I'm surprised they weren't embarrassed to serve it. (I posted the photo of the sesame bun in the clear container it came in, and the brown mess in the off white container is what the bun looks like inside). The other dishes weren't great either. Tasted very one note. The Jian Bing Guo Zi was a bunch of flavorless fried dough wrapped inside a crepe with egg. Nothing like the Jian Bing I had from the neighborhood street cart growing up. We ended up making our own dipping sauce and added the eggplants in there to make it semi enjoyable. It's going to be hard pass next time someone suggest getting food here. Would not recommend this place at all. Save your money. There were plenty of other options in San Mateo.

No rice even comes with your meal. No soy sauce or hot mustard. The chicken was like canned chicken. Not impressed with any of it.

This place had been good but total disaster after it moved to the new place. Came with friends this time. Big disappointment. 大盘鸡(Xinjiang chicken with noodles), 红烧石斑鱼 (sea bass daily special) they’re looking stale, tasting stale, as if precooked hours or days ago and then microwaved and served. Soy milk does not taste good at all, grocery store soy milk tastes better than that. 油条(fried donut) was worse than grocery frozen stuff. And we have been feeling stomach discomfort after coming home. I need to apologize to friends tmr for taking them to this place today.

This is the BEST Chinese food restaurant that I have ever had in my life. You can tell that the cook has a passion for cooking! The food is delicious and made with LOVE! My party felt so satiated after eating here! Sorry the food was soooo good we got engrossed in eating and forgot to take pics before eating; just know it was unbelievably good!

The food is absolutely delicious! The walnut shrimp is a MUST TRY! I also love the 煎饼果子! (I have to say, this is not the most “healthy food” out there, but the walnut shrimp just taste amazing! The portion was very generous and the price was very reasonable. No wonder the store is packed. The staffs were so kind and patient as it was our first time there. The store is so busy and they still managed to served us very quickly. The atmosphere isn’t ideal as it seems to be a family style restaurant. But hey, if they spend thousands on remodeling, the dishes will cost way more. So I still give this store a 5 ⭐️

very authentic Chinese food.very impatient service from the old guy if you pay by credit card for under $10 bills. (while waiting for pick-up, we added an additional order for 豆腐脑 which cannot be combined with the original order, the guy almost refused to take our credit card untill we agreed to add tips for using credit card)

Really good and authentic Chinese food. Owner and staff are very friendly with great service. FYI they moved to a new location, but the food is great as always.

Careful! Dishes taste different from old location. Either a delivery thing or owner change. Portion is small. Taste bland. Very disappointed.

Very kind and warm family-owned Chinese restaurant. The freshly made bumping was fabulous. Bette to dine-in rather than ordering online.

Food is good but not too much worth my drive from half an hour away. I would return if I'm local.Restaurant fills up quickly during rush hours. We were the first table at lunch and witnessed one older lady (owner maybe) yelling at some server, which raised a red flag about the ethics of this place.

Just tried new location. Staff were super helpful and friendly. Food delicious, especially house-made noodles. And they allowed us to use our zero-waste takeout containers and bag, which is a huge plus, and means we'll be coming back soon!
