Great service , appetizers and food were delicious. We had a party of 8 , and there were no complaints. Very friendly staff, drinks from the bar were good.

There was 6 of us and we all ordered Porterhouse steak medium ($$$). Steak was good except too salty. Most of us couldn't eat the potatoes because it was drenched in salt, veggies were ok. Wine, cocktails and desserts were good though. Esgargot was good, crab cakes were a little too moist for me. Would recommend the bread pudding.

Was invited to be background for a filming at this restaurant. The service was great and they even helped fix my friend's dish when he found a hair in it. I liked the creative way they presented the vegetables. My potato somehow looks like a muffin. Additional service was real flowers, real candles, and great cocktails. Amazing.

Porterhouse’s new location is a BIG upgrade over its former site. Now located in the old “Vault” building, a former bank, it has great street presence and appeal. On the inside, there’s numerous photos and movie posters of old holiday stars like Clark Gable and Audrey Hepburn, giving off a cool vintage vibe. Service is great, food is excellent. All in all, a great steakhouse!

In the heart of town, a steakhouse divine, Where ribeyes sizzle and potatoes gleam, A haven where romance and flavor combine. The waiters, with manners, pour aged wine, As candlelight dances, a lover's dream, In the heart of town, a steakhouse divine. Each bite of ribeye, tender and prime, A symphony of taste, a culinary scheme, A haven where romance and flavor combine. Potatoes, crispy and golden, entwine, With each savory morsel, a blissful stream, In the heart of town, a steakhouse divine. Amidst the ambiance, stars softly shine, As diners bask in the restaurant's esteem, A haven where romance and flavor combine. So raise a toast to this culinary shrine, Where love and steak create a timeless theme, In the heart of town, a steakhouse divine, A haven where romance and flavor combine.

Food and service are great. The restaurant could use some updating! Somewhat pricy, but really good steaks!

Enjoyed our first visit here! Armando was our server and was awesome! Salads were so good (the apple one was my fave). Daughter's filet and my Wellington were perfectly done. Sides were delicious. The twice baked potato was a favorite. We will definitely be back!

Friends took me here for my birthday dinner and our server was very good ,but the cowboy steak was not up par with the price ,it was chewy and gritty. I figured ok the first 3 cuts maybe it'll get better but no this was one of the worse aged steaks I had in a long time even BJ brew houses rib eye steak was better and half the price. Also it was pretty dark in there that I couldn't really see my the cuts of steak. The Brussels sprouts were well over seasoned. I just wanted to mention how bad the steak was and our server saw that a third of the steak was chewed on the plate because I didn't want to swallow it. This being a steak house thought the steak would melt in my mouth but wrong. I don't mind paying for great steak but this was a terrible piece of meat. So beware if after 2 cuts please tell your server. The risotto was good, also the pork chops. I was going to pick the pork chops but this place supposed to have great steaks. Our server was great.

went here for my birthday celebrating with friends ,Service was very good. dishes we had risotto good , pork chops good, chicken ok now get to my meal cowboy ribeye steak looked good but was too gritty, chewy not tender at all, very disappointing after cutting 2-3 pieces that I couldn't swallow , but thought those were edge pieces it might get better,NO after everyone was finished eating , I had 2/3 of the steak left and then mentioned to our server that this steak was too gritty and chewy. He replied to me that I should have immediately told him so he could fire up another one.He did apologize. He gave us a free desert. But here I was going to a steak house and thought how can it go wrong.I had a better ribeye at BJ Brewery that was half the price. So here's my advise after trying few pieces and if it's not good tell your server ASAP.

Had date night with my husband! Decided on Porterhouse in San Mateo. Denise was amazing . We ordered the porterhouse for two and the Cowboy steak. Both was cooked medium. Came with twice cooked potatoes and vegetables. The steaks were so good and cooked to perfection! We had the crème brûlée and the bread pudding. Of course we had leftovers for dinner the next day. The food was just as flavorful. We will be going back and asking for Denise to be our waitress. She has a great sense of humor and was very attentive !!

I was very surprised by the positive attitude of everyone I had the pleasure of dealing with here from the bartender to the seating host to the waItress. Our group of 4 was pleased overall, one even thought that the value here was much better than the steakhouses in San Francisco. As others have stated, the escargot was GOOD and my lamb chops the same.Parking: Free street parking only on holidays and Sundays.
