The best Ramen in San Mateo. I work downtown so I've had a chance to try most of the other ramen places here, but Ramen Dojo is by far my favorite. The others I try once, and then I just think to myself, I wish I'd just gone to Ramen Dojo! The noodles are really springy and have a fabulous texture. I usually get the garlic pork with regular spice. Lifts your spirits and makes you happy. The service is really fast so even if there's a line, you can get in.

Solid choice for ramen in DTSM but it could be better.There is a lot more ramen competition now so Ramen Dojo doesn’t have the lines that it used to.The garlic pork broth is flavorful but wish they made better noodles. The noodles are the same type as HiroNori where they don’t really taste like they’ve soaked up the broth.A regular bowl also filled me up 40% so not sure if men would have to order 2 bowls or a lot of extras.Service was really good.

This used to be a great Ramen place but not anymore. First of all, no more line. Secondly, the food portion was way less than before. Unfortunately, there are way better ramen places in the bay area. Don't waste your time here.

Absolutely the best Ramen I have eaten and there has been a few!The broth was deep and silky. So delicious and creamy. The fried chicken was so good. Everything was satisfying.Added a bottle of cold unfiltered Saki and it was perfect ?
Took the family for the first time for a Saturday lunch. Got lucky with no line for a party of 5. We ordered pork garlic with pork belly and extra noodles. It was very filling meal. We had no spicy, mild, and med spicy. All delicious. Service was outstanding. Street parking was pretty easy. Can’t wait to come back.
I was looking for a warm dinner on a chilly night while visiting San Mateo for business, and Ramen Dojo really hit the spot. Go early though, as there only about 20 seats in the place.I had some edamame and a bowl of Ramen. The ramen would have probably been enough food, but I like edamame. The edamame nothing special, same as everywhere. The ramen was full of very fresh ingredients, including a couple of slabs of meaty pork belly. The ramen was just spicy enough (I ordered medium spicy), with a good balance of flavors.Atmosphere is spare, typical for a joint of this type, but cozy. It got substantially cozier after I asked them to shut the front door, which was propped open, with the kitchen fans pulling a constant wave of cold air across my table.Upon my request they closed the door most of the way. I suggest they invest in a proper makeup air system instead of leaving the door open and freezing their guests.Service was cheerful and friendly, but terse - to be expected since the place was very busy. For the Bay Area the price was very reasonable.

Nice quiet, cozy location. People were supposedly lining up out the door for this place before Covid, but seems like an underground spot again, or maybe it was just a slow rainy Saturday.Ginger bamboo pork was really good- I wolfed down my food.

In a competitive space, this is a shining star!! ? Huge bang for your buck with even bigger flavors. Very straightforward menu that comes out very quickly. Loved our service and the atmosphere of this restaurant. Highly recommend checking out - they advertise a 2018 Michelin on their door and it’s rightfully deserved.
