Highly recommend their Hong Kong style milk tea with egg tart! Their fruit cake is affordable too and not as sweet compared to other bakery chain. Overall, the Simply Cake team is very efficient and friendly to me (especially cat π©·)

Excellent quality. This is the Asian bakery we keep coming back to over and over again. I particularly recommend the scallion bun, I get that more than anything else, but the Portuguese egg tarts and pineapple cakes deserve honourable mention. Itβs all good though.

Cute tasty pastry of unique flavors with Asian flares. And the pricing is great and fair. Approach and taste are more modern and innovative. Very glad to have visited this shop. A must try ππ

I have to write it down to express my concern of the cashier training at this place.
Me and my pregnant wife were at the checkout counter when a cashier, falsely accused us of cutting in line, yelled and kept arguing with my wife. It was made without any prior investigation or clarification, and the cashier seemed to automatically assume we were at fault.
Here is what happened:
1. We are waiting in the line about 5 - 10 mins
2. The cashier left the counter for about 2 mins, then the customer checking out also left the place
3. As my wife is pregnant and felt tired holding the tray, so she put the tray on the counter, and waited for the cashier to come back
4. When the cashier came back, he told us that we should wait in the line, and directly called the next customer to come to check out
5. We told him that we are the first in the line, just because my wife is pregnant and wants to put the tray on the counter, she moves forward and waits until you come back
6. He rudely said that it is making him confusing, but finally checkout our orders
It does not make sense at all to any customer, unless they can answer these questions:
1. If someone cut the line, should the complaints firstly come from the people who are standing in the line? At that time, there were at least 10 people standing in line and behind us
2. How come the cashiers don't even know who is the next customer in the line? Are they trained to be serving professionally?
3. Could you help check your CCTV to confirm if we were cutting the line?
4. If the cashier had a compelling reason to say we cut the line, why did he check us out? If he did not have a compelling reason, why did he blame us first without asking, just because he was not happy?
5. When a cashier finds a customer standing in front of the counter, and no one behind complains, why did he assume the customer cut the line rather than assume the customer coming down from the line? Did he do this to every customer stand by the counter? Or Is that assumption only applied to certain groups of people?
There is a huge problem on their customer serving training

July 2025:
Stumbled upon this bakery and wanted to try the cakes. Got a baked char siu bow and a Portuguese tart.
The Portuguese tart was creamy and tasty π. It was not overly sweet like some places make it.
I had the char siu bow about a week later. I tend to like these at home and use as a quick snack π. 40 seconds in the microwave and it was ready. Lots of meat in the bun. Not a lot of fatty pieces inside too. Very delicious π. I'd come back for more of the buns.

Went there for the second time to buy this pork floss cake! Nice portion with reasonable price.
The only reason I give 4 stars is because the staff was really slow, it took so long waiting for him to tape the paper bag while there were so many customers waiting in the line.

Called and placed an order at 3:35 PM for a 7PM pickup. Confirmed, see you at 7 the staff said. When I arrived (on time), they could not find my cake order. Why did they even take my order and confirmed it. Anyway, double / triple check your orders before pickup if ever you're going to order ahead to avoid unnecessary hassle. It sucks to drive for 30 mins only to find out it's not there.

The cakes here are so delicious. I've tried many flavors and they are all so good. We ordered a 10 inch mango mousse cake and it was beautiful and tasty. The hot dog bun is delicious--a little pricey, but the quality if the bread and even the hot dog was noticeably high. Service is great; the staff is kind and efficient even when busy.

I have nothing but good things to say about Simply Cake. I have ordered a few different cakes from them, and they were very responsive. Although a couple issues arose, they did everything they could to make it right. Their cakes and pastries are delicious, and the drive over from East Bay is worth it!
