Got chicken and waffles here which was really good however the portion was VERY small, which is kind of disappointing. Would come here again just which they've gave bigger portions

Ok when I say efficiency is just part of what they do I mean it's to another level. It was like a well oiled machine! We literally sat down and next thing we knew we were done eating with the table cleared. The service was top notch and the staff super friendly! The food tho!!!!!! Let's just talk about the food... I had the Ruben sandwich... the first half was like meh but all of a sudden the second half completely bamboozled me to the core the flavor hit me like a punch in the pallet. The Poutin fries with bacon was eeeeeeeverything it was gone before I blinked. I love the food and the vibe was prime!

Came on a rainy Wednesday evening at 6:00 pm. We were immediately seated and given menus. I ordered the Brie burger and upgraded the fries to poutine style. The burger was delicious, and huge but the bottom bun did get soggy after a while. The poutine fries were also good but I personally would have liked more gravy. I did ask a waiter and he promptly gave me a side of gravy. It was definitely a filling meal and I had a couple french fries left over. Will be back soon to try some drinks next time

Good food will cost you! We got all the food as takeout. This place had the perfect pastrami. #19 - excellent presentation good ratio of sauce, Slaw , and pastrami. Toasted perfectly not too soft not too crusty. They included pickled onions. Fried Chicken Sandwich + loaded fries - delicious. Chicken was firm and not overcooked. Bun was awesome. The fries were filling. Couldn't finish. Pastrami Burger- amazing. So good it was gone in the blink of an eye. At the restaurant the team was so fast to get our food out to us. The restaurant is like a sports bar with outdoor seating as well. They will let you bring your dog to dine with as well. The bad. These 3 meals after tip cost $95+.

Exceptional pastrami well worth the drive. If you wanted just plain toasted, be sure to specify that as the grill the bread. Great service and cozy atmosphere

Food is ok, but the fact that one cannot split a bill on 3 or more cards (for the party of 4 for example ) is just

My husband got the Chop pastrami salad, which is always good and this time I got the shrimp tacos. Perfect amount and should've asked for some spicy sauce or jalapeños because it could've used a little kick. All in although, service was great what else can you ask for!?

First time here at the San Mateo Hillsdsale Shopping Center location. Have been to their other location in the past in San Carlos. LARGE menu with LOTS of selections for Pub Type food and of course a HUGH selection of Beers. The Pastrami of course is the BOMB! Enjoyed the clean ambience and outdoor patio at the Hillsdale location. My dinning companion ordered the Grilled Chicken salad and it was very tasty along with their mustard based vinaigrette. I had Pastrami Toasted Slaw # 19 Sandwich which as billed; had THICK Cut LOTS of Pastrami, coleslaw, swiss cheese (not melted), and crazy Russian dressing on toasted rye bread. A great sandwich. My only critique might be to slice the Pastrami a LITTLE bit thinner. Others awesome spot for a BEER, some comfort food and to take it all in.Oh and BTW - Guy Fieri who is a BIG FAN of The Refuge Says HELLO :-)

Grabbed a quick lunch here and went for the pastami burger. It was extremely juicy but a little bit on the salty side, but honestly was balanced out when I added their spicy mustard

Made early dinner reservations specifically for the advertised St. Patrick's Day corned beef dinner special which was to be served on March 17th ONLY. We have had their pastrami sandwiches several times and it is always delicious. My COMPLAINT on this day was that they had run out of the ADVERTISED corned beef dinners by lunch time according to our very nice and apologetic server. How can a restaurant run out of corned beef on St. Patrick's Day especially when they ADVERTISED this menu special??!! They should have prepared half at lunch and half for the dinner crowd when they realized they did not have enough for the whole day!!! Or not sell to to-go orders and only for dine-in only!!! VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!!!!!!! And they did not offer any consolation goodies as an apology.

It would've been fabulous except we came there for your special corn beef and cabbage dinner and arrived at 5:30 to be told that you were out of corn beef. I don't really understand how you would be out of corn beef at 5:30. Hopefully next year you'll order enough so the people that come for dinner can have it.

Amazing and wide breadth of beer selection. This is a great place to get drinks and snacks, as well as friendly and attentive service; however, the food is just solid. My wife and I got the St. Patty's Day special (pastrami, mash, cabbage), cheesesteak, and poutine, which were all good but nothing special. The poutine does not even have cheese curds. Located in Hillsdale Mall, it has a new swanky feel and ambiance, so great place for a hangout.
