Food is about 3.5 stars with poor service. I came here with a party of 10 during a weekday. We had reservations beforehand and mentioned it was for a baby shower. A friend came early to help set up the table. The only decoration she had was a “welcome baby” sign and some small party favors for the guests. The hostess directed her to a table in the middle of the restaurant. My friend asked if we could have a table against the wall instead just so we can tape the sign up and was denied. The hostess said that we should have specified where we wanted to sit with our reservations and should have asked for a wall. My friend only asked for a wall because she thought it wouldn’t be an inconvenience to the restaurant. We were the first and only party there in the spacious restaurant. It wasn’t a big deal for us to have the sign up and so it was placed like a table runner on our tables. It was just odd that they would say no when the restaurant was pretty much completely emptied and we were the only diners there.

So during this quarantine I decided to look through my old photos to find any places I forgot to review and three craft kitchen and bar was one of them! I came here around March with a group of friends to celebrate a birthday. We reserved a table and got seated and was ready to eat. Before I can talk about the food the service here is just amazing. I honestly felt like we were royalty. Our server would come around refilling water like it was his main job in a sense. Other places do this too but our server was so attentive I would always have a full glass of water and barely notice him behind me refilling it. Anyways with a big party (roughly around 12) we all ordered and food came out quick. Apps first entrees and dessert last. Everything was in increments of like 10-15 minutes and dirty dishes would fly off the table cause our server was just that attentive. A1 service. Now for the food. We all ordered a bunch of stuff and tried each other dishes but i am going to review certain main foods that stuck out to me. 1. Deep fried French toast. Deep fried French toast is literally what it sounds like. Comes with a side of fruit, syrup for drizzle, and powdered sugar on top. It's French toast and it's deep fried. Of course it's delicious. 2. Calamari. Calamari was decent. Nothing to special just your typical calamari with a side of tartar sauce. 3. French onion soup. I personally love onions and French onion soup is one of my top three soups. This place knows how to do it. The onions were so caramelized, it melted when you bit into it. The soup itself was not super thick or super runny and was actually kinda clear and not filled with a lot of oil. It was a good balance and the layer of melted cheese on top just blended everything together. 3. Salmon Benedict. Salmon Benedict is an egg Benedict on top of some salmon and toast. The hollandaise sauce was white for this dish (idk how they did that, maybe it wasn't even hollandaise but it was good) egg was cooked perfectly, firm all around but still the yolk would leak out when cut into it. 4. Finally this mushroom appetizer. It's like a puff pastry with wild mushrooms inside. If your a fan of the taste of mushrooms I feel like you'll really enjoy it. Myself however it was ok. I like baby bells here and there but maybe the wild mushroom taste was just a little too much for me. All in all this place is wonderful and I can't wait until this place reopens so I can try out all the other food they have to offer!

We can't here recently before the shelter in place for Saturday brunch. It was busy but we just had to wait 15 minutes for a table of three. Once we were seated we were given the menu and there were quite a few options. My husband ended up getting the deep friend French toast and I got the creme Bruleed Banana oatmeal. I loved the oatmeal it was definitely sweet and rich. It was filling and it came in a generous size. My husband said the French toast was okay and way too greasy. I actually wished they had more vegan options because that is something I've been trying to eat more of but there wasn't really much of a vegan brunch option.

I've been here twice for my company's holiday party and once for brunch with my friends. Service was exceptional and food/drinks were amazing For brunch, we ordered a pitcher of guava mimosas for the table. This was equivalent to 4-5 drinks. I tried the fried chicken waffle sandwich. I liked the sweet and spicy Chipotle maple sauce on the tender chicken. The applewood bacon was delicious! I just wished the waffle was a little crispier Three is located in downtown San Mateo with plenty of metered street/residential parking

So sad to learn that they are closing for good! We really liked the food and the drinks. Service was always excellent which is really hard to come by lately. I hope the owners will reopen somewhere else!

Unfortunately I went here for their last brunch. They Closed The restaurant for good after we left! However, the same company runs Par3 at the golf course in San Mateo, and I have gone there for lunch several times during the pandemic, for outdoor dining.

This restaurant is excellent!! One of our party of 4 was running late, but we were seated at our reservation time and not rushed at all. Barrel Aged Manhattans were excellent. Entrees were prepared and delivered hot to our table. Oregon Risotto with Cod or Chicken was primo!! Our wait person, Tammy, was friendly, answered our menu questions and took good care of us. I've been there 3 times in the past month and a half and look forward to returning again very soon.

We love Three and have not been in awhile. The food is consistently good and portions are good. The service was excellent on a busy Friday night with Leah as our server. We love the atmosphere and it was easily accommodated when we requested a table change due to noise from private room combined with the bar. I will be back sooner than later.

Went here for brunch this past weekend. Was pleased to see that there was not a line to get in, so we were seated right away. Nice ambience. Service was fine the whole time we were there. We were seated in the back room since we had a baby with us. It seem like that was where most of the families were. It was right near the open kitchen which was pretty cool to see. I opted for the corned beef hash as my entrée. I started off with the three onion soup as well. The soup was fantastic. It pretty much is just a French Onion soup though. I guess I wasn't expecting that, but in hindsight, it makes a lot of sense. The corned beef hash itself was very lackluster. It is lacking in the flavor department, and a hash part of it was a little bit under cooked. I have had much tastier corned beef at many other restaurants. It was not so bad that I would not return to them, but if I went back, I would certainly try another item. I was unable to try anybody else's food at our table, but everyone seemed like they were satisfied.

Wishing there would be a face lift here....been a long time customer and it feels tired. Staff at the door was great! The food is good but again this area needs a place that has some fresh new items and ideas on the menu.

My friend and I came here for brunch on a weekday. We arrived around 11:30am. Only a few tables were occupied so it was not difficult to get a table right away. I ordered the egg Benedict and my friend ordered the crab cake Benedict. We both enjoyed them very much. We must've been so hungry because we devoured it so quickly. The Benedicts come with potatoes. I love that they were the crispy kind of potatoes. We also ordered the deep fried French toast to share. It tastes like a donut! I love all things sweet so I enjoyed it, minus the fruits that came with it. It came with cantaloupe and honeydew fruits. Which in my opinion are the worst fruits to put in a sweet brunch dish. I think strawberries and banana would be better. I still think it was a good "dessert" to go with our benedicts. For cocktails I ordered a peach drink. I think it was called the Peach Temptation. Delicious! We also ordered peanut butter and jelly shots! Don't order it! It tastes like a very sweet Robitussin. Side note: The bathroom is full of sticky notes with affirmations. Would I come here again? Yes! I enjoyed the food and drinks and will come back to try something else!

Not bad. More basic restaurant than I expected but the food was decent and the price wasn't anything crazy. Good simple restaurant

Some really great dishes! Amazing fried chicken and bacon bites. Risotto is hard to get right and was undercooked. Steak was a little overcooked. Overall very good place.
