We love Tokie’s and have been regular users since the mid-80s, when it occupied a tiny space in Charter Square in Foster City. They expanded their space significantly but were the casualty of redevelopment. Their old location was displaced by a primary school. The newer location (on 4th Ave in downtown San Mateo) has very nice ambience but the parking can be a challenge during peak demand times like Friday and Saturday dinners. Amazing service, food and drinks are fantastic! We were helped by a server Logan, she’s been the best part of the experience at Tokie’s. Fish is super fresh, I highly recommend getting Tokie’s roll and seared scallops (aburi sushi). Yum! Can’t wait to come back.
One of the best dining experiences I’ve had!! I took my boyfriend here for his birthday, and we were amazed! First off- Ryan the bartender- has an amazing collection of handcrafted cocktails and shots that are a MUST HAVE! The chefs are extremely talented. We had the pleasure of meeting Takuya who made the freshest most flavorful sushi I’ve ever tried. 12/10 experience, highly highly recommend!!
