This family owned restaurant is a gem. Food is delicious, I highly recommend their handmade pork with Napa cabbage dumplings. They are so good that I buy the frozen ones to enjoy at home. While dining, I can always hear others coming in to purchase them too. Also try the soup dumplings! Authentic Chinese food with great service. The restaurant owner Allen makes you feel right at home.

A typical hole in the wall eatery. Max seating is roughly 30 or more, but pick up orders were ongoing during our visit. Obviously a favorite stop for the locals. I have had better meals but would return to this location again if in the area.

Parking: We also ordered fried rice, chicken chow mein, and pork & corn dumplings.
As far as parking, it's not a large lot and can fill up quickly.

Kid-friendliness: Didn't see any child specific activities or child menus.

Wheelchair accessibility: Don't recall seeing handicap parking or wheelchair ramps. I think wheelchair access is possible but not real convenient. I could be wrong. It was dark when we arrived and parked right in front of the restaurant.

This is a small local chinese restaurant in San Carlos/San Mateo. If you didn't know about it you would over look it but would be missing out.

They specialize in dumplinga which you can see being hand made in the back. They have a wide variety to chose from and also you are able to purchase frozen to take home and cook yourself.

Their shanghai soup dumplings are great. I also got a dumpling soup which you chose which type you want in the soup. Overall everything was great. Fairly priced so it didn't break the bank.

It is a small restaurant and it seemed as if they got more delivery/take out orders. Not an issue because service was fast when we dined in.

Enjoyed the soup dumplings, fried rice and garlicky green beans. Wish there was some ginger for the vinegar sauce- that would have increased my rating 😆

Very authentic Chinese restaurant atmosphere (feels like it could be somewhere in HK) We tried 9 different dishes in this visit.
My recommendations are sesame pancake with marinaded beef and custard bun.

Handmade dumplings and noodles. Noodles were not as qq as I like but did have that nice uneven handmade texture. Tendons were soft but not as tender as I like. Broth was bland and very sesame oil-heavy. Xlb were decent (better than Shanghai Bun Dynasty, lol) but cooked on a cut-out piece of that rubbery plastic mesh shelf liner which I am 100% sure is not food-safe or heat-safe and that reason alone is enough not to come back at least not to dine in.

Their main business is selling frozen dumplings to make at home so I guess stick to that. We don't live close by enough to do that without pre-planning and bringing a cooler and maybe ice. I should have tried some sui gao to see if it's worth coming back with a cooler but FFY set the bar so high for sui gao (and everything else they made) that no other place can live up to it so I am always reluctant to try new sui gao.

This place is no frills and extremely unassuming, but awsome family run restaurant. They have an extensive menu. I arrived late when they were getting ready for a late lunch and still they accommodated me. It was really tasty. I wanted to order more to go, but felt bad that I was that I keeping the person away from eating.
I wish I had a place like that near me.
If you are looking for a date place... get it to go.
