Easily one of the best around. The constant lines speak for themselves - it's worth the wait, even considering the abundance of milk tea shops in San Mateo.
I ordered a hot drink here for the first time, and the experience was really disappointing. The staff didn’t close the lid properly and didn’t warn me at all. The drink spilled all over my clothes and even my shoes when I tried to take a sip. All I got was a very casual “sorry.”
Fortunately the drink wasn’t extremely hot, otherwise it could have caused a burn. The milk tea was also overly sweet and didn’t taste good.
QQ noodles and boba aren’t fresh or cooked properly so the texture is too soft. Tea is ok
Fast and good
Overall pretty good. Went on a weekend on Saturday around 3pm. There was a pretty big wait with people crowding outside waiting for orders. They have a QR code you can scan outside or you can order inside. We tried the strawberry milk tea 30% sweet and that was good for us. The wait was about 15 min though until it was ready. Longer than some other boba tea places. Price is around $5-6. Also parking can be tricky.
TP Tea is OG and gets very crowded on weekends. I personally think their creamer (in regular milk tea) is too powdery and the fresh milk tea is kind of watery. Occasionally I’ll come back for the classic Taiwanese style boba milk tea for mems
A lot of different types of milk tea to choose from the menu
I really like the flavor of this boba tea, also that you can order without sugar and choose the kind of boba. Also this place has good prices.
Could not be more appreciative of their excellent customer service. I dropped a drink I ordered inside their store on the floor, not only did they clean it up, but also made a new one for me. I am so grateful! The drink is also very delicious, they put a lot of efforts in making it just right.
Very nice! The amount of boba you get for the cost is perfect! Will come again.

Burnt tea, BITTER.
Order: tieguanyin salted cheese foam. Even the generous cheese foam cannot neutralize the bitterness.
Really good, refreshing and not too sweet Thai milk tea.
This review is long overdue. I am a regular at TP Tea and the San Mateo location is my favorite. The amount of times I have visited is astronomical and I am sure the employees know me and my order by now. Before TP Tea, I would not stick to the same boba spot for more than a month. Well, TP Tea and I have been going strong for more than a year. That right there should tell you a lot about this location.
I typically order the Matcha Tornado and Jasmine Milk Tea for myself so my review will mainly be based on those drinks. I have tried other drinks on the menu, but nothing floats my boat more that the Matcha Tornado and Jasmine Milk Tea. The quality of the tea is excellent. It is also stronger in terms of caffeine compared to other boba spots I visit.
To collect points towards a free drink and get your order sooner than later, definitely download and order through the Snackpass app. You can also add special requests in the notes section which other locations shut off.
I never had an issue with service and my drinks have remained fairly consistent. TP San Mateo is a winner in my book.
I love Boba so it was soo good!! Definitely recommend
Good tea, good times. Milk tea boba is consistently delicious, my absolute go-to spot. Whenever I'm in the area, I have to stop by. Their boba is always on point. recommend checking it out if you're nearby!
