This review is long overdue. I am a regular at TP Tea and the San Mateo location is my favorite. The amount of times I have visited is astronomical and I am sure the employees know me and my order by now. Before TP Tea, I would not stick to the same boba spot for more than a month. Well, TP Tea and I have been going strong for more than a year. That right there should tell you a lot about this location.
I typically order the Matcha Tornado and Jasmine Milk Tea for myself so my review will mainly be based on those drinks. I have tried other drinks on the menu, but nothing floats my boat more that the Matcha Tornado and Jasmine Milk Tea. The quality of the tea is excellent. It is also stronger in terms of caffeine compared to other boba spots I visit.
To collect points towards a free drink and get your order sooner than later, definitely download and order through the Snackpass app. You can also add special requests in the notes section which other locations shut off.
I never had an issue with service and my drinks have remained fairly consistent. TP San Mateo is a winner in my book.

Good tea, good times. Milk tea boba is consistently delicious, my absolute go-to spot. Whenever I'm in the area, I have to stop by. Their boba is always on point. recommend checking it out if you're nearby!

We had ordered 6 drinks and 3 waffles (in 2 separate orders) and had been waiting around ten minutes before asking if our order was ready. We saw a few drinks that looked like ours, but the girl up front said it was a different order/ours was still being made and packed those drinks in a separate bag and put them behind her.
We proceeded to wait for another 15 minutes and asked again. As it turns out those first drinks she packed away were in fact ours and the other three were separated on the front counter, making it seem like our order wasn't done, I guess. The waffles we ordered were also packed away sitting in the back. They seem to use an electronic number display board but it's not at all accurate. I saw countless people walk up to the counter and have to ask if their order was ready. We waited so long that our waffles and hot drinks were basically cold.
This could have easily been avoided if the person up front would just call out order numbers? It just seemed really inefficient and unorganized. Instead, they had like at least 20+ drinks sitting on the front counter and people would have to walk up and ask. I didn't even receive a text notification that my order was ready until about 20 minutes after I had left the area.

don't waste your time here! I order a chocolate waffle, and wait 30mins. If I don’t ask, they will never prepare my order. I asked counter, it should be only take 4mins. Don’t go!!!
