I ordered paneer as a vegetarian, but the dish had a piece of chicken in it!!!
When we raised the issue, a random guy who do not even work there saying he is from door dash. rudely brushed us off with a casual sorry, saying they needed to serve other customers. He literally said that “we opened the restaurant on Labor Day for people like you.” We just wanted to speak with the owner or manager politely, but he showed us attitude instead.
They told us to wait for the owner, but when we spoke on the phone, the “owner” was also casual about the matter, and it was clearly the same rude person we had spoken to earlier.
Very unprofessional and extremely disappointing, especially for vegetarians who trust their food to be served correctly.
The food is amazing the service is better than and faster than usually, the atmosphere is a bit loud but cosy.

Urban Momo San Mateo is a true delight for anyone craving Nepali and Indian flavors. Every dish we tried; from momo and choila to chicken chilly, naan curry, and biryani was packed with authentic taste. The staff are warm and welcoming, making every visit a pleasure. If you’re in the area, this place is an absolute must-try!

Urban Momo in San Mateo has its own personality and flavor. The biryani here has a deep, layered spice that seeps into every grain of rice, comforting and satisfying. The chowmein is stir-fried to perfection, with a hint of smokiness and crisp veggies that keep each bite interesting. The paneer butter masala is smooth and creamy, perfect for scooping up with warm naan. The lamb curry stands out, tender pieces of lamb in a rich, well-spiced gravy that tastes like it’s been slow-cooked with care. And of course, the chicken momos are a must-try: juicy, well-seasoned, and even better with their dipping sauce. The place has a lively, warm vibe, and the food feels like it’s made with pride. I’m definitely coming back with a group of friends to make them realize how authentic Nepali food really is ❤️ Urban momo is Love ❤️

We stopped by for Lunch here. Kamal Thapa is one of owner of this place and is very kind and friendly. The food was tasty and authentic, which was prepared by cooks from Nepal who all are mountaineers and river rafters. It’s a place run by people who love what they do.

The butter chicken was too delicious and the best chicken momos I have ever had in my entire life. They are open until late so this is my best place to visit for food.

A mix of Indian, Chinese, and Nepali foods. They have both steamed and fried momos and I find the steamed ones are better. They offer two different sauces for their momos, which take 15-20 minutes to come out.
Other than that, they have other well-sauced entrees and you can't go wrong with many of the different options.
They have a nice outdoor patio on B Street and a good interior too.

We ordered veggie and chicken biryani to-go and there were huge chunks of chicken in veggie biryani. I would call this a management disaster as a vegetarian person would definitely won't like to see chicken in their food. I would stay away from such sloppiness.

A momo-centric review. We tried three of their chicken momos - Steamed, Jhol, and Chilli. The momos are delicious and generously filled for the stuffing. Tad bit expensive when compared to Everest Momo.
Outdoor seating is awesome for your four legged friend. Will come back again.
