Ambiance ✅️ Food ✅️ Service ✅️
Had a great dinner at Yayoi SM Megamall, just a short walk from The Podium. The Katsu Toji Teishoku was amazing! Loved their Gyoza, Tempura, and Tonkotsu Ramen. ✨🩷 Always my go-to Japanese restau! 💕
good food, nice ambiance.
There was a nice selection on the menu and it was easy to select and add options.
I picked the miso katsu teishoku option. My only quibble was that the meat was a bit hard.
My two take out orders were chicken katsu and pork katsu and both were well prepped and served.
There isn’t much atmosphere in the restaurant, but it’s clean and efficient.

The food is good but really expensive. They left the dish washing room door open and we were unfortunately seated near it and it was unbearably loud. :(

Better than I expected! The food was pretty tasty and service was great (both the human and robot server!). The iPad that you order on was pretty nasty though, and I don’t love the price for the quality so docking it down to 3 stars - not bad but not going to be seeking it out either.

My kids and I stopped by for lunch and we loved loved it ! We ordered eel sushi, spicy tuna sushi, spicy salmon sushi, ikura sushi, salmon don and a kids meal and everything was delicious. In the end we ordered mochi ice cream and matcha tiramisu both of which were also yummy. The place is so clean, with a contemporary look and very fast service. My children were most excited about the robots that were rolling around waiting tables and serving meals …. looked like straight out of a sci-fi movie !

I was really disappointed with the food quality here. The ingredients were far from fresh, and the Salmon don was the worst I’ve ever had. The salmon was paper-thin, lacking any fat, and the rice had an unpleasant smell. Overall, it just didn’t meet basic expectations for quality. I won’t be coming back.

Minimal service.
The Tonkatsu ramen is bland and comes with one piece of paper thin pork belly.
The katsu ju is nice, but not superb.
It's a typical mall restaurant. Don't go there with high expectations.
Expect high price for little food.

Very authentic Japanese home-style restaurant ? I was surprised by the variety of the menu. Besides the outside menu, you can find more things to pick from! They also have a lot of Don, Ramen, and even a handroll sushi! ?
I ordered Mixed Fries with egg-covered, which were good. They came with katsu, wagyu beef, and shrimp fries ?. The katsu was not soft enough to chew, but the taste was good. I could also customize my order by adding Gyoza, chawan mushi (steamed egg custard), and Eel Don.
Then, I ordered some sweets after had proper lunch, Warabimochi and An Mitsu were also so yummy. I especially liked the mochi ice-topped on the An Mitsu. ?
So happy to have casual home-stye Japanese here! ?

Another Japanese restaurant that actually feels Japanese. The taste and presentation of the food brings back memories of my trips to Japan. I was shocked that this place actually had you grind your own sesame seeds to make your sauce. Amazing! Please eat here and keep this place alive. We need more real Japanese experiences like this in The Bay Area.
Parking: Plenty in the garage.

Ive been to all the Yayoi’s in the Bay Area. This is by far the worst. Whoever is buying the ingredients at this location should be fired. They sent me a skimpy Don Katsu and the server was very accommodating and requested another one. But the second one was just as bad. The salad had literally one leaf with dressing on it. Can you imagine the owner of this franchise business saw this? This was a shocking experience for me. This location needs new training asap.
