The choices of vegan ingredients for the dish are great and you will definitely find something you like - veggies, mushrooms, tofu or dumplings! You pay for the weight and therefore are able to create your own dish as you wish, considering the ingredients as well as the volume. There are three vegan soups available and a great variety of toppings that can be refilled as wished. Really nice concept and definitely a recommendation!
Been here since it opened — staff are always super kind and the food is consistently good. Never short of anything from your selection (vs the other newly opened Malatang place where they keep missing stuff and there are flies in the ingredients)
Malatang is basically precooked hot pot so you don't have to cook the food yourself. It's basically like Chinese fast food.
You get to choose what you want by picking raw food in a steel bowl and then they will cook it based on the soup bases you choose.
Zhangliang is a malatang place from China and they seemed to expanding to Bay area and I'm happy it's here.
