The Phô was different taste from other Vietnamese places, ( by the chatting I guess they are Thai) but suficiente amount. Perhaps late night it’s not a good time to eatI came in at 7:45 and by 8:03 then the waiter took away my chilli peppers? There was no one else but me leftI guess they close at 8:00 ant not 8:30

First, we ordered the Nam Khao, ginger scallion kidney, papaya salad, and chicken wings for appetizers. The papaya salad was a little on the sweet side for me. The Nam Khao was pretty good, ESPECIALLY when I ate it with the pickled chili peppers. The kidneys were good too. I ate that with a side of steamed rice. My son ate the chicken wings (about 6 wings per order), so I didn't get to try it. He liked them and wanted to order another set. Then we moved on to soup. I ordered the Chow Jou with thin egg noodles. I didn't know there was an option to have the broth on the side, but I wanted it all together. The broth was bland. I needed to add salt, soy sauce, and pepper. I'm not one to usually add anything to my soup broth. The stuff inside the soup was good: chicken breast, ground pork, pork kidney, fish cake, fish ball, and shrimp. The slices of fish cake were small and it only came with one fish ball cut in half. Overall, I thought the Chow Jou was a 3.5/5.My husband ordered the pineapple fried rice. I'm allergic to pineapple, so I couldn't try it. The presentation of it was nice though.

The place is not too clean and the food not to appetizing… we order wonton soup in the image it looks that is was the wonton and the noodles but the soup they serve to us has a lot of different meats that we didn’t wanted and it was flavorless the fresh spring rolls were not fresh at all. The only good tasty dish was the pad

Been coming to this restaurant on & off. Heard the restaurant is now serving Thai & Lao food. We dropped by this early afternoon for some lunch. It was fairly quiet when we arrived. The restaurant was pretty empty, we were able to sit wherever we pleased. We sat in the corner by the windows. It wasn't a good choice, because when the front door opens up; you can feel the breeze. In any event, we ordered the fried fish cakes, chicken noodle soup, #21 & the Khao Soy. The fish cakes are still good. No complaints on the #21 & Chicken Noodles. The Khao Soy was pretty good, but the lack of meat choices as I am accustomed to was a little surprising. The ground pork was tasty. Wish there were at least some tripe, meatballs, shrimp or something else besides just the ground pork. The restaurant seems to be in a better place with the Thai & Lao food. I would definitely come back to try the rest of the Lao food. Looking forward to try the Khao Poon, larb & papaya salad.

I love this old school place! I always order the Malaysian chow fun and spicy won ton. I wish people would support this business! I guess they don't get much foot traffic. They combine with Thai Lao style now so more choices on the menu! If you in the area please try out this place! I think you would like it!

The dish I always order from Noodle 21 is their Chow Jew With Thick Egg Noodle Soup (#21 modified with thick egg noodles - I forgot to order it with thick egg noodles today so my photo is with what it usually comes with, hofun noodles). It's been my go to dish for the past 20 years since going to VH Noodle House in Oakland and their El Cerrito (now called "Mi") location weekly back in the day.Noodle 21 is pretty much the same restaurant as VH and Mi. Though they honestly were missing something in their recipe for a while, specifically something in their broth. I will say I have never had a particularly bad meal from Noodle 21, though there was just something in their flavor that was not there.Fast forward to today. I was craving noodle soup this evening and decided to give Noodle 21 a try again. Yes! Whatever they have done to enrich their broth flavor, it's there. I don't know if it's one of those broths where they add more ingredients every day and it becomes better as they go or what. Though they now have that deep flavor that I've been wanting from them.Definitely beats driving out to El Cerrito or Oakland for my favorite noodle dish since moving to the Pinole area. The one thing I'd like to see from Noodle 21 is the kidney in their soup was a little overcooked today, though I did order to-go; so I'm sure that plays a factor on how they would cook kidney in general.Overall I'm very happy to see their flavor is now there and I am looking forward to my next bowl of soup already.

I have been to Noodle 21 twice since I don't live in San Pablo and only get to go there when I work out there. I've tried many pho spots and this one is by far my FAVORITE. The flavor, the taste, the portion, the quality, the prices, the SERVICE is excellent. The first time I came here, they were so welcoming and made extra sure I felt at home! The cook is amazing and he actually comes out and gives you your food, it's honorable. Noodle 21 deserves more clients because not only is the food amazing, but the service is excellent and they always make me feel right at home♥️ every time I work in Richmond, I go/will be going because there's nothing like Noodle 21!

Walked in, ordered, then quickly noticed how filthy everything was. The condiments all looked like they had never been cleaned, the floor was sticky, and there were boxes and junk everywhere like they just moved in. We wanted to leave but decided to not cancel out of courtesy. Overpriced for what it was and kind of hard to choke it down considering how filthy the place is. Hard no !!

Whoa I follow this guy wherever he goes. He really should have a restaurant in Vegas or New York. But he chose little old San Pablo. Thank you. The food is first class all the way. Produce, seafood, and meats are prepared fresh (did I say FRESH). Like a 5 star restaurant on a great day that's how great it is.
