I really think the nicest people in Los Angeles work at this port! Literally, every staff member I interacted with was friendly, helpful and genuinely seemed happy. I drove out to the cruise port early evening on Sunday because I wanted to figure out exactly where I needed to park for my cruise the following morning. The cruise parking lot is not huge compared to some of the other ports I've been to, but it is a little confusing because there are two entrances. They also share the parking lot with the Battleship USS Iowa museum. After driving around for awhile trying to figure it out, I ended up parking and walking up to the guard shack to ask for help. I was greeted by the nicest man. He told me exactly where I needed to park, where I needed to drop my luggage off, and where I needed to enter security the next morning. He seemed to really care about helping me out. The next morning I got there about 2hrs early and was lucky to snag a parking spot on the front row. I drive a RAM 1500 pickup, so the parking spots were a little tight for my truck, but it all worked out just fine. We started walking our luggage to the drop off station and were stopped and greeted by several men with carts. They were all smiling and one guy was even singing, they told us that they would take our bags for us. At first I have to admit, I was a little skeptical because these guys were way too friendly that it seemed odd to me. But then I saw other cruisers give their bags to these guys, so I figured they must be legit. To my surprise, as soon as we handed over our bags, the guy who took our bags asked me for his tip... No joke, I have never had anyone straight up ask for a tip the way he did. I laughed out loud because his strategy to get tips was amusing, so I gladly handed him over a tip. After dropping our bags, we headed over to the security line and ended up waiting outside about 40 minutes to enter. But once inside, it was the basic TSA-type of security. My carry-on bag was flagged because I had a bottle of wine and 16 bottles of drinks in it. They opened my bag and checked to make sure my drinks were all still sealed, then told me to have a great trip. Everyone here was so friendly, welcoming and helpful. It was refreshing to see so many smiling faces and a great start to kick-off my trip. Overall, this is a great port! Everything was clean, inviting and well maintained. My truck was safe while I was gone, and the staff was fantastic from start-to-finish. Parking here does costs $20 per day, I think that's pretty reasonable if you don't live in the area.Highly Recommended!

For checking in to your cruise with luggage it was a madhouse. If your cabin status permits you can go through a different line. However some staff didn't know about such a line and others told us to just use the regular line cuz it moved faster - obviously wrong info.On the reverse of that, departing the ship was a breeze as the suite concierge met us at the Schooner Bar and took us to a secret door for easier access off the ship.Once in the terminal I asked where the red tagged luggage were and got instructions that they were at the very far end on the right. While Doc and hubs were spotting our 7 pieces I went to request a porter at the signed area. Our porter had relatives in Ewa and shared he was coming to Hawaii in October next year for the Kahuku vs California game.He helped us unload across the street where Doc had parked for the week $140.After note: if you are a dingo and forget one piece of luggage behind they are very helpful at contacting the port assistant coordinator to bring your orphaned luggage to you. What a blessing. Thank you John, Daniel and Daniel's colleague who called me.

The Port of Los Angeles is the largest and busiest container port in North America. Each year, it provides infrastructure and operations to import and export billions of dollars of goods internationally. As you probably have heard in the news for many months, the COVID-19 pandemic significantly increased the volume of containers in this port and caused a gigantic backlog of ships. According to recent news, the employees at this port have worked very hard and have greatly reduced the backlog of ships. This port also has a terminal for cruise lines such as Celebrity Cruises and Princess Cruises. I took a round-trip cruise from this port to Mexico. For my drop-off and pick-up, my rideshare drivers took some time to drive to the exact berth of my ship, but they did figure out where to drive.

With Royal Caribbean resuming their shorter cruises out of the Port of LA, I have a feeling we will here more often.I have been thru a few cruise ports in the US, and I feel like LA has one of the easiest ports to navigate. From the parking lot, its a very easy walk with luggage to baggage drop off and getting into the cue to check in.Once thru the process of going thru security, checking in for your cruise, getting to the gang way and checking in on board seemed pretty simple. For 3 days worth of parking, it costs $60, however the cost seems comparable to other ports and travel facilities. I am not sure who else go out of the Port of LA, but if your thinking about taking a cruise out of LA, the port part is a pretty easy process.

They are doing extensive work to improve the area. So cool to walk down and see the ships at work. The fireboat station is also very cool!

It's fun to watch all the giant cranes and containers. It's so fascinating to me. The bridges are fun to drive on as well.

Came here during the tallship festival, which the rubber duck was also part of the festival. They don't called this world largest rubber duck without for a reason, this floating cute ducky weight over 1300 pounds and over 100 feet tall !This is first time they had this in the west coast, who know if they ever come back.. History said unlikely but maybe in other west coast cities in distance future... Parking is not bad but you can find free parking not too far away in most resident area. This place is packed even during when it just open the door, expect a line.. There's two entrace, the line near the USS IOWA is long.. But the entrance in the left is fast and his is when you get your ticket. Which run $7 to all way over $80 if you want full sail on the ship which probably no need, since the rubber duck is so close to the pier and you need some distance to take a decent photo.LIke I need to tell you more, bring you *(&$ camera and just enjoy it ! There;s some band and small set of booth, real reason to come here is to see the ducky !
