The breakfast burritos here are my favorite! Maple habanero is SO good! :) I just wanted to write a review because I’ve been coming here for years now & the owners, employees, & food are the best in San Pedro. One of the owners even gifted me a shirt after noticing my consist business, how sweet!! I’ll definitely continue to tell others about this place & it will forever be my favorite breakfast spot!

I'm new to San Pedro, down from 6 years in LA proper. The Chori-Man, nestled between a neighborhood cornershop and local bakery, Colossus, specializes in some of the best breakfast bites I've ever had in my life. Seriously. Half chorizo-sausage butcher counter, and half to-go service window, The Chori-Man sports a smartly-curated and thoughtful lineup of breakfast burritos, breakfast sandwiches, and lunch plates to make you salivate. Vegetarians and vegans need not compromise, either: more than simply subbing in soyrizo into existing offerings, The Chori-Man designs dishes for these dietary restrictions. (And in the opinion of this particular meat-eater, they're no slouch either. Some of the best dishes offered here are vegan.) I think I've tried six or seven different options so far, from the regular menu and specials, and been happy with them all.First off, take some chorizo home and make it yourself. No, really. Their owner, Humberto, is a fourth-generation chorizo-maker, who learned artisenal, Mexican sausage from his father and uncle in Zacatecas, Mexico. You may meet him, while at The Chori-Man; he's often popping out to the wide sidewalk outside his establishment to catch-up with locals and say "hey" to folks. And the retail chorizo, particularly the traditional Zacatecano Red, is my personal fav. I'll get it in links, and cook 'em up for sandwiches or breakfast at home. I also love the Argentinian Pork, for its garlic and fennel notes. Since San Pedro also has a strong Italian history, toss a 1lb of chorizo into your marinara recipes and make them sing! Honestly, you can't miss. But, truly, if I'm hungry and want eat now, here's what I always come back to. Get the Sunshine Sammy. Yes, yes, I know: LA is a city of breakfast burritos; and the perfectly runny eggs and thin, crisp russet potatoes of The Chori-Man's breakfast burrito will blend smartly to your satisfaction. (I literally tried it, first time, and was blown away! With the jalapeño relish on the side, it's stunningly good...) But I'm telling you, get the Sunrise Sammy.I thought nothing would top the burrito. I was wrong. The Sunshine Sammy--their Maple Habanero Pork Chorizo in a sizeable patty, cheese, formed-up and crispy hashbrowns, Ancho Chile mayo, topped with a runny fried egg--comes on their in-house toasted brioche buns. It is spectacular. You'll bask in a positively perfect blend of flavors and textures, with just the right amount of heat; I feel spoiled every time I eat one. And I kinda go a lot. Once per week, every week, for several months now. I'm obsessed, and happy to admit it--even if I'm a bit of a creature of habit after finding something good. The Sunshine Sammy is the thing Taurean Hedonistic dreams are made of. 100% worth it!

Excellent breakfast burrito. I ordered the breakfast burrito with the Tolucan green chorizo. Such an excellent choice! I wasn't sure what to expect. When you see the pictures of the chorizo, it definitely looks interesting, but the taste is delicious. Although the burrito was excellent, I was impressed with their green salsa. I don't know what was in it exactly (tasted like cactus with a little bit of sweetener and spice), but it knocked my socks off. I'm fortunate to have friends in Pedro that tell me about places like this. I think it was a hidden gem years ago, but now it's gained quite a following on Instagram. It's a grab-and-go place. Parking is on the street. We parked less than a block away. They make their food with love, so be prepared to wait a little bit.

I'm just gonna be real: I wanted to like the food so badly, but this is consistently the worst, most overpriced food I've had in all of San Pedro. Almost any other option is at least 2x better, and for a lower cost.Chilaquiles: not actually chilaquiles, they put non-fried (aka instantly soggy) Doritos instead of actual fried tortilla. This leads to a truly miserable dish, not a single crunch could be found even when fresh. I've tried this twice, both times were terrible. Oh, it's also $15, about $2-3 more than other places. Want sauce? That's an extra $1, and the sauce container is low quality so spills in the bag.Chicken adobado burrito: almost entirely beans and rice, hardly any chorizo, cheese, onions, etc. Somehow still $14?? Any of the food trucks or Mexican restaurants will give you a better burrito for about $8-11.Horchata: completely meh, not entirely sure this is even horchata. Probably, like the chilaquiles, a b astardization of what you think you're ordering. Whichever seasonal flavor it has when you order it, is more of a "hint" of that thing.I don't understand why this place has good reviews. I want to believe it's solely because of their off the shelf chorizo options, because eit isn't for the food. Save yourself time and a lot of money, go literally anywhere else.I wish I could charge back this place for the food I got today - it was inedible, and I frankly feel scammed.Staff is friendly, just wish they had a single dish worth ordering or even worth the money.

I drove from downtown Los Angeles just to get there maple habenero chorizo. Service was on point with a very bubbly cashier and gave a great recommendations to get the braised beef in the bean and cheese burrito. Will definitely come back again for another sunshine Sammy sandwhich!

Came down from the SF valley to hit this place up on a friends recommendation, and it was a hit! I had the Chori-Burrito with the Maple Habanero chorizo and on the first bite I was doing the happy dance. They gave me some jalapeño salsa that smacked too! My mouth started watering just thinking about it. The Chori-Man was there and he provided great service walking me through the chorizo offering and I bought a couple pounds and it was just as delicious at home. There was another lady there too maybe the Chori-Woman who was super nice and really made the experience worth it. I can't wait to go back.

I have now been here twice and both times were amazing! The first time we got the green pork burrito, and the pork maple habanero burrito. Both delicious, though I will stress the habanero IS SPICY HOT. Be warned if you have a weak spice taste. The second time (yesterday) I got the Sunset Sammy. It was, without a doubt, the best breakfast burger I’ve ever eaten and I will be getting it every time from now on.

Everybody raves and it is very good. Service is helpful and informative and employees are always upbeat when answering questions they hear a thousand times a day. I always enjoy the burrito, tried the clam chowder- I get it, but it didn't hit for me. The color change to the soup when the chorizo is added made it look unappealing, I didn't enjoy the extra saltiness, and number of clams was disappointing. Others love it so take my review in balance. Parking is a total pain - street parking only-but turn over is fast or park further out and walk in. It is worth the great reviews and I recommend you try it. We are local it is an occasional place for us.

Super tasty breakfast burritos. I got one with green chorizo and other one with chipotle braised beef. Good amount of meat and really hit the spot. Pro tip: eat in right away so the tortilla doesn’t get soggy. Place is an absolute gem. 5 stars.

Although there was no line on a weekday morning, I can see it getting busy on the weekend. They have order ahead online if you want to time your pick-up and skip the line. Got the Chori-Man Breakfast Burrito with the green pork chorizo as my choice of protein. It was so good. The egg just oozes with just the right amount so that it doesn't overflow out of the burrito causing a mess. The potatoes are fluffy. The chorizo is seasoned really well and is so soft. It's such a luxurious and filling meal for the morning. The burrito was huge. Definitely more than what I eat normally for breakfast. Albeit, I'm not a big eating breakfast in the morning type of person. One would've been enough for both me and my sister.
