The landlords are extremely greedy & don’t support the people of San Pedro. They’re happy to have this business sit empty out of pure greed!

After finding this place on the internet we visited, Found it closed for some indeterminate reason, would not have taken a minute to post this on their site Can only speculate as to how good their customer service actually is!

Fantastic service and delicious food. Shepard pie was a banger. Waiter and waitress extremely nice. I forgot my card and the waiter even ran to catch up to me. Fantastic people.

We came in on first Thursday’s after exploring San Pedro for a bit. Very attentive server, nice ambience with open fireplace and old wood decor. Feels like an old Irish pub. Food is good. Sausage rolls were not what I expected, it’s an actual sausage wrapped in pastry, not ground meat. The Fish and chips were great and the gravy on the sausages and mash was really tasty. Two rounds of beers and ciders for two and it cost us $120 with tax and tip. Also they had karaoke on Thursday night which was a nice surprise. Recommend if you’re looking for warm vibe and comfort food.

We were staying at the Crown Plaza Hotel about a block away and decided to try the Whale & Ale for dinner. The location is smaller then expected, but they did have seating both inside and outside, when we arrived on a Friday evening around 5:00. We chose to sit outside next to the sidewalk as it was a nice warm evening, though a little breeze which did blow some leaves on to our table through the meal. They have a decent menu, but not a huge selection, however we had decided to go as they had Sheppard Pie, and some other items that we wanted that evening .... we ordered a Wedge Salad to share, the Sheppard Pie, and Banger's and Mash. The Wedge Salad was larger then we expected and was plenty for the two of us to share, and also contained a nice selection of items on it, the Sheppard's Pie and Banger's were also very good, and had a very good flavor, the staff was friendly and helpful, and overall we enjoyed the meal and will go back again the next time we are in town.

We made reservations for Easter Sunday. The waitress Jessica was the best very friendly and on top of everything. My wife ordered prime rib medium rare. It arrived medium well. She couldn't even cut it with a knife. It was horrible. We sent it back. It was that bad. The owners were there and covered for 1 drink which was nice. But the food was horrible. Just horrible. Needless to say we will not return.

Specifically went down to this place for the Kilkenny Irish cream Ale. The au jus was nothing special, but a good sandwich and chips for the price. Will definitely go back.

This is an Irish pub in San Pedro, so it's not necessarily where you think to look for Irish fare. Our server was great....very friendly and very attentive, and all the staff seemed pretty welcoming. The atmosphere is a bit more dive bar than Irish pub and could use a little updating. The food was a little hit and miss. The chowder was a little fishy, and the ice cream with the bread pudding was freezer burned. But the French Dip was really good (and those fries/chips are probably worth the visit all by themselves)! The Scotch egg was different than any other we've tried, but in a good way.We went on a Saturday afternoon, and it wasn't super busy, but was starting to pick up as we left. So probably a good sign that the locals were starting to flow in.Not a "must stop", but worth a try.

The unique blend of a creamy stout and a crisp lager creates a perfectly balanced and smooth taste. The flavors complement each other perfectly, with the rich chocolate and coffee notes of the stout blending seamlessly with the crisp and refreshing taste of the lager. The beer is served at the perfect temperature, making it easy to enjoy every sip. It's a unique and delicious beer that you won't find anywhere else. I highly recommend giving the half-and-half a try, whether you're a beer connoisseur or just looking for something new and different to try.

The bread pudding was good The shepherd's pie was okay.. probably could have had more chunks of meat as opposed to ground meat. Lots of very British types of dishes here
