We stopped in to their store front looking for good bbq. The reviews of this place caught our attention.
Ordered the 3 meat combo, and got the ribs, brisket and pulled pork, along with the beans and coleslaw.
The Brisket had a decent bark on it, and was tasty, but had too much fat on most of the pieces. The ribs were good and reasonably tasty, not overdone and not over sauced like you see in some places (you sauce it yourself). The pulled pork was quite nice, great flavor.
The slaw I enjoyed, I would classify it as a country-type of slaw. The beans were good as well, good flavor.
We thought the 3 meat combo was a bit overpriced for what you receive. $32 for 3 ribs, and a small serving of other meats, with small sides... good food but a bit too much price wise.

Not giving 1 star because there’s potential here, but a lotta work to be done on the food quality, pricing, and location which was over 100 degrees inside. Ill definitely give them one more chance though as I think they’re aware of this. Gotta try and support a local business.

Updated 8/25/2024: They moved to a new location, which is literally 5 blocks north of the last location, one year later I’m still stopping by. I almost cried, thinking they moved too far but then again I do travel for good food.
I'm glad I found this gem. I had a project out in San Pedro and I found this place. I constantly went there for lunch on Thursday and Friday. All in all I probably visited this place more than 10 times In one month. They're only open Thursday-Sunday. I'm glad to say I went one Saturday and found out they have a different menu for Saturday and Sunday. They had this thing called the Tri tip sandwich it was to die for. If I'm ever in a situation where I would have to have my last my last meal the Tri tip sandwich and El pastor taco will be it.

I wanted to review the banana pudding, although the BBQ is the main food people go for, I don't eat meat, but my friends were craving BBQ and asked me to pick up a meal, they said the food was nicely smoked and tender. I wanted to try the dessert options, the banana pudding was not great, definitely not homemade very loose, very few bananas or wafers kinda disappointed with the texture

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Whiskey Flats Barbecue in San Pedro, CA, and it was an absolutely delightful experience. The barbecue here is top-notch, with a delicious Texas-style twist and a mouthwatering vinegar-based barbecue sauce that adds a perfect tang.
The brisket was tender, flavorful, and smoky, truly melting in your mouth. The sausage was equally tasty, and the ribs had just the right amount of chew, making for a satisfying bite without falling off the bone. The generous portions are worth every penny, leaving you fully satisfied without feeling shortchanged.
I'm proud to see these young entrepreneurs bringing such valuable and high-quality cuisine to the community. It's something the locals can really stand behind. I genuinely hope they continue to grow and expand their reach. It would be fantastic to see them make a debut at the waterfront or at Brouwerij West this summer!

The meat is delicious (sides are so so to not great), but I have had 2 experiences where I have been cheated so greatly that I cannot come back, which is a shame.- this review is a year late -Ordered 3 of the 2 meat trays and received LESS meat than the standard trays. That’s a lot of wasted money. I called and was offered to get it replaced, but with the limited days open and my drive time, I was unable to make it down in a timely manner.The second experience was more recent and most egregious! I placed my order over the phone for 4 trays and picked it up later in the day. When we got the total, it seemed very very high. We paid, but I was adding each item up only to find that we were over charged $60!! $10, even $20 seems like an honest mistake, considering the Pacific St set up, but $60 seems intentional. Got refunded, but that’s not the point. Had I not been paying attention or someone else picked up the order and didn’t know…I enjoy the food here but with these two costly mistakes we are done.
Hit and miss. Food is juicy and tender one visit. Next time dry and tough. So far it's been 50% great and 50% waste of $.

Ribs have plenty of meat, but to my taste a bit dry and chewy. I like more tender and more moisture ribs meat. Salads were good and fresh, but really small. Staff was friendly. OK for one time, but won’t drive here specially for ribs for $30+…pricy… Other restaurants offer more and better for the same price.
