Every year I send chocolate to my family for Greek Orthodox Easter. It is one of my favorite holidays and I love the meaning of this season. It makes me think of family and I want to treat them. This year, because Greek Easter was so late, there was no Easter chocolate left anywhere. When I turned to Glyka Sweets, I was worried. I needed 8 packages delivered to 8 different addressed in a relatively short period of time (because I had waited so long). I got Effie, the owner, when I emailed and she made it all happen seamlessly! She was so good that I worried I had missed something. But my family received their boxes in time for Greek Easter and THEY LOVED THEM!!!!! The Easter Bread was soft and sweet and delicious! All the other baked goods arrived in one piece, unbroken and seemingly fresh from the oven! Glyka Sweets is a great place and I will not hesitate to order more from them in the future. Delicious food. Effie (the owner?) was lovely. A take out place where they make the food so no real atmosphere. With no Greek restaurants in Marin other than a recently opened chain restaurant, this was a real find. The spanakopita and moussaka were great.

Excellent authentic Greek baked goods. Their butter almond cookies & Greek version of challah bread (tsoureki)are beyond addictive. They also do good melomakarona and baklava.Beware of the imported grocery items from Greece, they tend to either be outright expired (halvah; total waste of money) or near their expiry date.The amygdalota were ok; you can get better elsewhere.

I really love Glyka Sweets. There is nothing I do not like from this bakery. They make authentic greek baked goods.I was able to get the easter box for someone special this year and it comes with the candle and a lot of really lovely goodies. I highly recommend buying the box sets for presents. They are packaged perfect so that they arrive with no problem. I also ordered the hot cross buns. They make them the proper way and put the cross on the actual bun and not cheat putting unnecessary frosting on them. They are perfect cut in half and toasted in the toaster with butter for your tea and coffee. If you are hungry for Greek treats this is the place to go, if you have never tried Greek desserts you should order some you wont be disappointed.
