This restaurant is a true gem. Nestled in the Montecito Plaza strip mall is this truly authentic, incredibly fresh and delicious Indian culinary excursion. Every dish is uniquely flavored with generous portions and lovely service. Larry and I will be regulars!! Don't miss it!!

We ordered and had the food delivered. We don't have Indian Food experience, but were intrigued by a TV show featuring this region. Loved the butter chicken, tandoori chicken and garlic naan. Kebab had great flavor but was dry. We will order again and be a bit more adventurous next time.

Beautiful, clean setting. The server was knowledgeable and friendly. He made suggestions and spoke to different items on the menu. This was my first visit! The food was soooo good. The presentation was lovely! There was a fresh flower on every table. A small thing, but loved it. I will definitely return and recommend to all who will listen!

Incredible meal, flavors were complex, spice was just right, we tried almost everything on the menu (slight exaggeration, but we ordered a lot). Everything was delicious. The service was outstanding, friendly, warm. Great space between the tables. Don't discount this one just because it's in a strip mall.

Not the standard fare for a "meat 'n' potatoes" type of guy, but I enjoyed the meal. It started off with a complementary lentil soup, followed by my piping hot chicken soup appetizer, followed with Lamb Biryani. My portions were large. There was so much soup and Biryani, that I took it home for tomorrow's dinner. The clean dining room is contemporary in design. Prices are normal, i.e. as expected. Service was attentive. Abundant free parking in lot. I'm a tough rater, it takes some "Wow" to get a 5-star from me.
My entire family thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Himalayan Kitchen today for lunch. From the initial call to make our reservation until we departed the restaurant, the restaurant staff was so friendly and accommodating, and the food was exceptional! The space is open and airy, with understated decorative touches highlighting the beautiful Himalayan countryside. We were immediately greeted by cheerful waitstaff, who led our party of five to a quiet table at the rear corner of the dining area. The table was spotless and nicely set, including a small vase with fresh carnations. We were offered both lunch and dinner menus to order from, with a nice selection of dishes to suit everyone's taste and appetite. We were grateful for acoustics that allowed for pleasant conversation throughout our meal, which is often a challenge when dining out for those in our party with hearing loss. Our order included a MoMo platter for our appetizer, main courses including chicken Korma, butter chicken, lamb Pharsi, shrimp saag, and fried rice with chicken, along with basmati rice and plain and garlic Naan. Each dish was cooked to perfection and in accordance with the requested level of spiciness, and each was absolutely delicious. We were making plans for our next visit before we left the table. Without hesitation, Himalayan Kitchen gets five stars. We'll be back soon...

I came with my family on a Thursday night and everything we had was excellent. The ambiance was very comfortable and inviting. Service was good and most importantly the food was delicious. I tried the vegetable momo, daal misuwa, naan, veggie biryani, and another rice dish that I can't seem to find on their menu now. All were excellent. My favorite was the biryani. It was extremely flavorful. If I had to pick a least favorite it would be the daal, just because it was a little bland, but I still thoroughly enjoyed it. I will definitely be back next time I'm in San Rafael.
