I have been coming to La Toscana for decades and it never disappoints. The fish special, Petrel Sole with risotto was delicious and the portions are perfect! Thank you for the wonderful consistency in delivering delicious, well-prepared Italian delights. I will be back, as always.
We live in Southern California and this is our favorite restaurant in the Bay Area. Every year we stay in the area just to eat here. Service is on point every time, the food is delicious and they have a great wine list. I can't say enough about this place!
We hadn't been here in a couple of years and this dining experience did not disappoint. This was our first time sitting outside in their courtyard nice cozy space I though we may be forgotten about being outside but that was not the case at all. We ordered the Misti Frito and it was fantastic the calamari was cooked perfectly. We also had the spinach salad and the soup these were generous portions and tasted fantastic. For dinner we had the lasagna, beef short rib and the Pescatore my husband said the Pescatore was the best he has had! The lasagna and braised short ribs tasted excellent as well. We tried the lemon blueberry tiramisu and it was heavenly such a nice change to the regular tiramisu and CB is CB perfect gif the summer months. We will definitely be returning soon the food and service were fantastic!
Always good food. Dined on a Sunday when I believe usual staff had day off. Although they tried, service was lacking. No offer of cheese on gnocchi, no offer for addition drinks or desert. Manny was missed!!!
We hadn't been to LaToscana in a long time. Made a quick Open Table reservation and got in when we wanted. The service was excellent and the food great. The owner greeted us, sat us, and when leaving asked how our food was. We will go back. Thank you La Toscana for a wonderful meal. Oh I forgot. We had the Arancini balls, polenta cakes, and we both had the Petrale sole. We asked for no cherry tomatoes and no arugula. We asked for vegetables and everything was wonderful. Thanks again.
What a contrast – last week, it was very noisy and service dragged throughout. This time I sat on the enclosed "porch" where it was very quiet. The waiter was prompt and I got my food in about the same time as it took just to have our waitress appear last time! Generous portions of petrale and risotto.
Everyone of us enjoyed our delicious lunch. My was the braised short rib with polenta and a lovely broccoli spinach side dish. Others loved their Gamberoni, Bay shrimp Louie and pasta Orecciette. All Tiramisu desserts were delicious. Definitely will be back. Parking is not an issue.
Excellent dinner experience. The fish of the day was petrale sole which was beautifully charred and served with wonderful lemon risotto. My friend had lasagna which she loved and took half home for dinner the next day. We sat in the enclosed outdoor area, so it was quiet. The bar is lively, especially during Happy Hour, so noisy. Service was great -- no hovering. I also think they've tried to keep their prices reasonable, all things considered. Certainly less crazy than a lot of Marin restaurants! I would definitely recommend and will be going back.
Food and Service is exceptionally good. However, unfortunately the prices have increased significantly. Be sure to ask the price for their special dishes.
Overall, the food is delicious and the staff are nice but service, in terms of being able to order or get the bill, has been a hit or miss. More often than not, it seems like the servers are assigned too many tables so it takes a while to order, get food or drinks, get refills, or even pay the check. I feel like if they added one or two more servers per shift, it would alleviate the workload on servers who can then be attentive to their tables.

My friends and I had a wonderful visit and lunch.
We come from up the road about 5 hours to visit thr city 2 or 3.times a year and have found it easier to stay in marin than the city. We never fail to eat at your restaurant when we are here, and we have never been disappointed.
Big, clean restaurant. Spacious seating. Indoor, outdoor and separate bar area. I get the carbonara or the chicken parm with sub side of Gorgonzola penne. Warm sourdough bread with whipped butter upon arrival. The best , most “sweet” , server Alex.
This is my favorite Italian restaurant in Marin for the reasonable price.
Extremely underwhelming. I’ve honestly had better frozen lasagna. The arancini were super gross too.
All their food is good but the petroleum sole with risotto is heaven.
LOL. Edit: spell check strikes again. PETRALE sole.
