I made a reservation for dinner on Christmas day at 7:15 PM for my husband and I, and when we arrived at your restaurant, we were utterly disappointed to find out that it is closed and our Christmas dinner was not happening. What a way to ruin Christmas! How and why would you confirm our reservation and continue to text reminders up until an hour prior to our said reservation, knowing that you were closed? The sign on your door said that you are closed from Dec. 21 to the end of the year! Why on earth were we led on to think that we were going to have dinner at your restaurant? Totally unacceptable!

Nice enough Italian style restaurant in the heart of San Rafael. We didn't try the small plates, but the entries were nicely cooked, if a little boring. The Gamberetti (shrimp and polenta) was with a fairly spicy sauce, the shrimp were very fresh and tasted delicious as did the creamy polenta. The pappardelle with short ribs was tasty and enough left for a take home dinner. The beef short ribs were also served with polenta which I thought could have done with some salt. The ribs seemed like all the fat had been removed, leaving them just steak without all the fatty flavor, but they did pull apart nicely. Finished with tiramisu which was ok, not enough coffee soaked cake for me. Service was good, friendly and not rushed. Decor is typical Italian with a roaring pizza oven in the kitchen which is behind a bar with seating. Prices were reasonable and an adequate wine list.
