Bland
I ALMOST gave it a 5 stars, but the birria was not as crispy or flavorful as I would have liked. The fries could also be crispier, especially in the Cali burrito. But overall, the carne asada burrito and fish taco were really spot on. I’m from San Diego and LA, so I have high standards for Mexican food. We don’t have a place like this in the tri-valley, so I’m glad it’s here! Will definitely be back, and likely during late nights!

El Forastero Mexican Food is a 24-hour spot with a drive-through, offering great customer service. The food is amazing, with a great choice of different meats, like the 3 street taco combo. The birria tacos were very good, and the pina Fresca hit the mark. The Cali burrito was huge and amazing, and the carne asada burrito and fish taco were really spot on. The birria y consume is so tasty, and the tacos are delicious. The Horchata is a Chef's Kiss. The salsa bar is a plus, with a nice array of salsas, carrots, and radishes, along with chips under a heat lamp. The pollo and Fried fish tacos were OK. There are big screens for sports and a nice looking faux fireplace. Restrooms are clean, and service was quick. This is really good authentic food, and a great to have a 24 hour business in the area.
