The food is authentic and very flavorful. We had a very different kind of food. The servers were very nice and friendly. The service was awesome. We had fried momos, chicken biryani, wai wai and chicken curry. Mind blowing taste. I highly recommend this place.

The Gurkha Kitchen is a mini chain selling Nepalese halal eats. It opened where Pho Viet was. Interior mostly unchanged save for the added pics on walls & a flatscreen. Light music in background. Greeted upon arrival, assigned table, given menu. I ordered quickly. Food cooked to order. Came in 10ish minutes. Offerings (Nepalese version): appetizers, Nepali Khaja set, Thakali Thali, desserts, tandoori, momos, veg./non veg. entrees, Indo Chinese, rice & biryani, drinks, beers. Eats: Khasi ko Sekuwa (18.99) country style BBQ goat. Marinated with many Himalayan herbs/spice -served with sliced carrots/cucumbers, red onions, cilantro, potato salad. Lightly battered, had nuanced flavors of spicy, tanginess, subtle sweetness. -accompanied by large serving of lightly fried pieces of rice, jalepeno slices, mucho peanuts, -comped nicely made chai. Didn't pair with BBQ. Was informed when ordering it's "bar food". It sure was filling. Took most of it to go. Yummy it was. 4.5 stars: most diverse Nepalese ever seen! So far great food at 2 locations. Worth repeating...

Great good, excellent service. Chicken momos are my favorite. Their sauce is just perfect.

Loved the veg momos and chowmein! We ordered takeout last week and today wanted to dine in. Momos are our favorite and will be back for sure.

Our server Mahesh is super friendly, everything is just right. The garlic naan is excellent, fish curry is very delicious. We will be back again and try other dishes.

We had an amazing experience at the Gurkha kitchen. Went in on a Wednesday night and ordered several items from the menu. The paneer chilli, the chilli momos, the chow mein and the fried rice were all very flavorful. The staff were very friendly and served us with a smile. They even made recommendations for kids for items that were less spicy. Would highly recommend this place for anyone who likes indo Chinese or Nepalese food.

Food was delicious! My favorites were the fried rice and Veg C Momo. Mahesh was really nice, patient, and constantly checked in with us. Overall great experience! The portions are also super big and the prices were very reasonable compared to current prices in other places.

Both my wife both agree, this is by far some of the best Indian Food we have ever had:-). we were also pleased with the quantity of food we received. Anyway, luck us for stumping across this place in San Ramon.

We were told by a friend that the Gurkha Kitchen had great food and so knowing absolutely nothing about Napali food we gave it a try. The restaurant is a modest little "a hole in the wall" a couple doors down from the San Ramon Safeway but don't let their modest appearance fool you because that restaurant is packed with incredible warm and spicy flavors! The butter chicken is divine right down to the last drop of sauce soaked up with either their much-better-than-homecooked rice or warm naan. The chicken momos (dumplings) are delicious with a soft steamed dough surrounding a generous and flavorful filling. We also love the chow mein, samosas, and a favorite of my wife is the Chana Masala, a savory, spicy blend of chickpeas cooked in a tomato-onion sauce. The servings are ample, plenty of choices for vegetarians and meat eaters alike, and many of the items can be made in either mild, medium, or spicy. On our initial visit and the other times we've dined inside the staff have been so friendly and helpful. Whenever we order from Gurkha, whether in person or through Door Dash (their food, unlike other places, is just as good via Door Dash as it is in the restaurant), we always get enough for two or three days because most of the dishes only get better with time. Writing this review has me so hungry for their food it looks like Door Dash tonight! Give Gurkha Kitchen a try. You'll be supporting a small local business and good people while enjoying a great meal!

The device was excellent, for Indian food. Both dishes came in less than 15 minutes and were piping hot appearing to have just come off the stove top We were offered chai that was self serve. Happy that it was not pre-sugared. The goat and lamb curries were tasty and with little chili pepper. The offered me a home made chili sauce for additional spice. We had enough to take home second meals both of us.
