Overpriced and mediocre food. The sisig was just chopped up kawali which we already ordered separately. 2 tortang talong, i lechon kawali, 6 garlic rice and its $88. One and done in this place.

We came in with only 30 minutes to spare, so some food items were unavailable. We ordered sarciadong isda(fish) which is fried milkfish with eggs and tomatoes and binagoongan which is shrimp paste (bagoong) mixed with pork belly and served with tomato (kamatis), mango, and eggplant (talong). Like I said in my previous reviews at other restaurants, I despise pork. But I will make some exceptions, binagoongan "bee-na go-oong-ahn" which was freshly cooked in the kitchen and was DELICIOUS. Pork belly grosses me out, but at least the crispiness and flavor makes up for it. I like the fresh tomato, fresh onion, fresh mango (it's supposed to be green but I think that is harder to find in the USA) is refreshing and adds complexity to the flavor of the salty pork. The eggplant was grilled so it was slightly crisped on the edges. And I ordered rice because bagoong/shrimp paste is very salty. 5/5I also ordered the halo halo. Everyone's halo halo is different and I was raised on Goldilocks halo halo. Sometimes you have super scary artificially colored drinks and sometimes you have something that is simple and classic. The ube ice cream was generous, the pinipig (crispy rice) was authentic and generous, and there was a very thick, caramelly flan. I like fluffy flan, but this one was pretty good. Most halo halos used canned/jared fruits and whatevers and so that was in this one, but it also had the dark beans. I like minimal artificial coloring and this halo halo was enjoyable for me. The serving size was considerable - enough for two Americans or four Filipinos, or three Filipino-Ams! 5/5My mom ordered sarciadong isda(fish). It was a little salty. 3/5Bathrooms were clean, but could be better - the lock confused me. I forgot to turn off the light! Oops. Maybe they can install an artificial light or LED lightbulbs? 4/5Customer service was excellent. The lady was welcoming and kind. We asked if we could stay to eat our food inside or if we had to go outside since they were closing and she said it was OK for us to stay inside. She was very helpful with other customers and worked very fast. The Kitchen also worked very fast so we were able to eat quickly. 5/5The restaurant is in a cute shopping complex with a shared parking lot. Other stores include Andersen Bakery, Cold Stone's, and Trader Joe's. Nearby is the hospital and some large roads, so it is conveniently located. I would definitely recommend this place if you want a small taste of the Philippines that is not obnoxious like Chow King or Goldilocks. This is more like a small Tindahan. They even have a fan mounted on the wall!

Wonderful service as you enter the restaurant. This is pretty much a done and dash kind of restaurant and was pretty much craving the food. The ambiance of this place is quite busy but very friendly. I am waiting for my order and ordered pork sisig with garlic rice and a side order of lumpia. I can't wait to try.

Five stars for being the ONLY fili restaurant in the entire tri-valley area. Moving to the area from Daly City, finding at least one was great. The folks here are so nice and although I've only been twice, the food has been consistent and yummy. They have their standard menu but also have different hot dishes from Tuesday-Friday. Appreciate them packaging my food well so there's no sauce spillage.

I stopped by on a Saturday morning craving breakfast. The wait was not bad like some other reviewers said, maybe because it was shortly after they opened. I noticed 2 older women in the kitchen working, so I didn't expect this to be a fast food experience, but I was in a hurry, so I was aware of my wait time. The owner was very friendly and helped me decide what to order, and she gave me 1 longanisa to try along with my pork plate. The food was delicious! Pork was plump and juicy, eggs were cooked to my liking, garlic rice was fluffy, not dry or old like some reviewers said. It's a very hole-in-the-wall vibe, which I don't mind, but I wouldn't bring a date here. I would definitely eat their food again, though :)

Thank you for the delicious catering for my Dad's church service - everyone loved your food and we can't thank you enough. Your pancit bihon, lumpia shanghai, pinakbet, and adobo were perfect choices for a successful event. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND Papaya Grill to everyone!!!!

I was hesitant in writing a review as I wasn't pleased with what I ordered. I was going to give it a negative review. But my fellow golfers provided their feedback so I reconsidered. We came today as our 19th hole for lunch after playing golf. Total 8 golfers. Tucked away in a corner at a plaza. It's a very small footprint. Two tables of four, a couple tables of two, and a counter facing the plaza. Hubby & I arrived first of our group. Ahead of us were two customers. We glanced around. Where's the menus. On the counter by the cash register. Hubby & I glanced at the two sided laminated menu. The backside is the party tray menu.Hubby decided on the lechon a la carte. I went with the BBQ silog. Subsequently our golfer's friends filtered in. Everyone else ordered and we squeezed into two tables put together. * hubby's lechon was hot. His side order garlic rice was warm. * my BBQ silog. The two eggs were sunny side up. Perfect. My BBQ two pork skewers were undercooked. My two scoops of garlic rice very lukewarm and one portion hard. * friends said their entrees were lukewarm but tasty. * BIL's lechon was hot also. * sis said her fried chicken was hot and yum. Bottom line - the food was inconsistent. Some hot, some lukewarm, mine undercooked. I took my pork home. Baked at 350 for 15 minutes. Much better. Pro tip: check in on Yelp. Get a free soda. Plenty of parking.I don't think I'll return.

Food was luke warm. Meat was cold but considering it was tasty but a little chewy since it was not hot. The garlic rice was sort of hard since it was also cold. Seems the food was precooked and left sitting and so our whole gang was served precooked food that was cold. It might have been better tasting food had it been a hot meal. Service was good, it was fast and easy to order but nothing special. Didn't even take any pictures of the food. Probably would not be my choice to return. They did offer a free drink which their fountain wasn't working so they did honor it with a can drink. They serve your order in a take out box with your utensils rolled in a taped napkin. It was impossible to undo the tape without shredding the napkin!!

This is the best Filipino place close to me in Danville. Folks are friendly and try to help w all my orders. A small place, but comfortable to eat in. The silogs are simple and filling plates.Kid-friendliness: Very family value place. Owners are friendly, accommodating and welcoming.Parking: Strip mall parking

Craving Tapsilog (marinated beef over garlic fried rice & fried egg) led to revisiting this restaurant. Got there to discover other Pilipino favorites & opted for Chicksilog & Crispy Binagoongan with a side order of rice. Chicksilog is a quarter chicken with "silog" rice & fried egg. This was crispy on the outside, tender inside. It was seasoned just right & dipping it in banana catchup was delicious! Binagoongan is chunks of deep fried pork belly sauteed with eggplant & shrimp paste. It is then topped with fresh mango & tomatoes. It bursts of sweet (tomato), tangy (mango) & salty (shrimp paste). Eat this with steam rice & fried egg for a complete meal! Each dish is good for two people. Dine-in is the best way to enjoy these. It is crispy and crunchy when it hits your palete. Service is friendly. Our food was served in 30 mins. Dine-in space is limited so it may not be good for big groups. Their extensive party menu allows you to enjoy their food else where, though.

It pains me when I have to leave an unfavorable review for a restaurant. Now I know different areas of the Philippines cook their dishes different from one another. So maybe it's partly that, but, I just really didn't enjoy my food here. The owners/staff were so extremely nice. Amazing. I wanted very much to enjoy it here. But unfortunately I didn't.It's a small restaurant and had quite a fair amount of business coming in and out with to go orders. They had breakfast all day and that excited me beyond belief because Filipino spots where I grew up, breakfast is over whenever it's sold out and it's always early. I stopped in for lunch on a weekday while I was in town and my eyes and heart lit up. I ordered a beef tapa breakfast plate (topsilog) with garlic rice and a fried egg. And I ordered a tortang talong ala carte. (Eggplant type frittata)The garlic rice had a small hint of garlic barely able to recognize and the tapa didn't taste as if it was marinated at all. Filipino cooking is usually so pungent with flavors. The beef was also over cooked so it was extremely tough and dry, I had to soak it in vinegar to have flavor. The tortang talong was huge. It was much more egg than I'm used to seeing. It was full of meat so that was good to see, but the "charred gas stove" flavor was too overwhelming to enjoy. I had one bite and ended up tossing it. The topsilog and the tortang Tolong cost me $30. I had no problem spending that for lunch just for myself until I was so unhappy with my food. I love supporting small places, I love supporting good people and my own culture, but the food was not enjoyable for me at all and that made my heart sad.
