Please visit the restaurant. Really very good food. Super Service. Very friendly. For this location, very good value for money. We recommend. We came here for dinner as guests of the Inn.Nice ambience. On our second visit for dinner everything was again very, very good. Fantastic food, good wine and very attentive service. The plate language was very good, very good products, great fillet, great noodles and prawns. Many thanks to Fernando our server. Very good job. Please keep it up. I hope that Highway 1 reopens quickly. Hold on. Great experience.

Had a very good burger and fries at the snack bar for $8 and on a second stop ate in the dining room and had rock fish. Both meals were very good. The server wasn't that great.
Overnight stop as we travelled US1. This place was roughly halfway on our trip along the scenic route from SF to LA. Great location on cliff top overlooking the ocean. Friendly and efficient checkin. Spacious and comfy room. Fridge and microwave provided. On-site restaurant and snack bar (although these both close fairly early at 9pm). Just a couple of minor downsides: Poor soundproofing - we could clearly hear voices and TV noise from neighbouring rooms. Also no curtains on the windows in our room facing the parking lot. Glass was frosted but even so a curtain would have been appreciated for privacy and for excluding light from parking lot. No Wi-Fi. Decent cellphone signal but it’s voice only, no data. The hotel blamed it’s remote location which may indeed be part of the problem. A PC terminal is available in Reception for basic (slow) internet access. Downsides were minor and we’d still recommend this place as a great stopover. Great location on cliff top overlooking the ocean. Friendly and efficient checkin. Spacious and comfy room. Stayed here 3 nights in August. Rm #9, ground floor, corner room. Very quiet. Our room was very large. Two sinks,, a jacuzzi tub, gas fireplace to heat room. Very well insulated. Bed super comfortable. Towels seemed newish and thick, good quality. Microwave, refrigerator, and coffee maker in room. Writing desk too. 3 onsite options for food: snack bar, Restaurant, and coffee and tea bar that serves dessert. Restaurant was good. Also small convenience store. We had dinner there 1x and ate breakfast 3x. Dinner was a little blah as chicken tasted reheated. It was a Monday. Breakfast was really good. Cinnamon swirl French toast was very good.. Really nice views of cliff and down to ocean. Does get very foggy but tends to burn off around 10 am. You are up very high on a cliff so ocean is not really accessible here. There is a trail down to beach but very, very difficult. We turned back. LIMITED CELL SERVICE. NO WiFi IN ROOMS. They have phones but when their WiFi went out so did the phones. I think people with AT&T could get cell service. Satellite TV via Direct TV which had a decent lineup. They need to get internet service via Satellite too. Was good to unplug as I was not tempted to read work emails and it kept my husband from watching TikTok videos non-stop like a 14 yr old. :-) i will definitely stay here again. Property has some age on it but I really liked it. Very nicely landscaped with excellent views.. Staff all super friendly and hard working crew.
We visited the Big Sur 4/7/22 and stopped in at the Ragged Point wine/sandwich/espresso bar that afternoon. The whole day was great with beautiful sites and friendly folks along path. We were looking to refill our waters and grab a quick snack. Unfortunately, the lady behind the counter was extremely rude. When asking about the water pitcher, she shouted back "the one in front of your face"... really, is this what customer service has come to. Then when the pitcher was refilled, she filled it with warm water and smiled as she handed it off. Wow! We decided we would wait to head further up the road to get snack where we would be treated with some level of decency.
it was a very amazing experience, then again everyone gets different experience, I was happy with my service the place and the view😊
Absolutely gorgeous views! Nice looking property. Great housekeeping with extremely clean rooms. Fantastic lobster at the restaurant. But then..... 1. No Wi-Fi. My wife had online school one of our nights, and we had to drive S to Cambria for her to get wi-fi. In today's world, it should be clearly spelled out if there is no Wi-Fi. 2. We had a rodent in our room. It ran from under our bed to under the dresser. I emailed the assistant General Manager, but he never dealt with this issue. 3. As you enter the front door, the standing lamp was unplugged. Once I plugged it in, I saw why- The normal switch was broken, so the only way to turn it on was to plug and unplug it. 4. Low hot water. My wife was running out by the end of her shower, which meant I could not take one until it heated back up. And she was the only one to take a shower so far that day. 5. No microwave in the room. 6. The fireplace in the 'main area' of the 'house' we were in was broken. 7. The heater in the bathroom did not work. 8. We arrived at 9:10-9:15 and no one was at the front desk. We waited a few minutes and finally someone came in. He said that he did not know if we would be there by 10 (which we didn't even know we needed to be) and so he had taped our key to our front door. (I'm so glad we did not arrive after 10, because we had no idea what room we were going to get, and never would have known to go door to door to find a key taped to a door for us.). But it wasn't even close to 10. Very odd. Property and building were both gorgeous. It just seems like there is poor management. When I emailed the assistant General Manager about the Wi-Fi, and explained to him that we were going to have to go to Cambria just so my wife could do her class, his answers were short and matter of fact, with no apology. Also, they give you a paper asking for guest feedback. I put all of this on it and turned it in on Saturday, 2-26-22. I wanted to give them at least a week to respond, but no one has, even though I shared my email and cell phone. This place has potential, but is not being managed well. Definitely expect more for $300 per night.
Good cheeseburger and a amazing view… worth the drive!
I called for reservations a whole month before our special dinner but when we got there on the day they didn't have our reservations. There aren't really any views from the restaurant so that was disappointing as well. The menu was pricy and the food portions were quite small...we were still hungry after the meal and our dinner for two was over $100. The service was adequate but we will not be stopping here because it was not a good value. After spending $100, the restaurant had the nerve to say they wouldn't share the wifi password because that was only for the people at the inn...really??
We stayed at Ragged Point Inn for 3 nights and ate at their restaurant exclusively. Between the two of us, we tried 5 different entrees - duck, scallops, ribeye, salmon, and Moroccan chicken breast. We thought each meal delicious. The fig relish with the chicken was interesting and I liked it, but the artichokes with same weren't edible. I think they were overcooked and artichokes are past their prime at this time of year anyway. My only complaint. Daily soups - tried the split pea with ham and New England clam chowder, both excellent. Desserts - California Lime Pie and Chocolate Landslide Cake (enough for 2). If you have to choose, go for the pie, otherwise save the cake for the next meal. The bread served with each meal is extraordinary. Artisan. Very crunchy on the outside, soft and flavorful on the inside. I am not a bread connoisseur, usually avoid it actually, but I wanted to eat it all. We both tried the Crab Cake Benedict with spinach (no English muffin), and hubby one morning had the Spanish Frittata. No complaints. We ate outside a few times next to the gas firepit, which kept me warm in the overcast cooler weather, but inside was nice, too. Like a big solarium with glass ceiling, windows all around, and floor-to-ceiling stone supports. The floor could've used a little TLC, but overall, it complemented the grounds and feel of this unique haven. Staff was very friendly and attentive, although we were there during the week and ate shortly after 5:00 each night. We also thought the prices were very reasonable for the quality of food.
Restaurantji Recommends
The views from the Ragged Point Inn Restaurant are spectacular. We could see whales breaching from our table. The menu is limited but creative. The staff was attentive.
Loved the whole experience. The grounds and facilities are amazing but it’s the views and natural beauty of the area which makes it over the top amazing. Worth the time and trip! Highly highly highly recommend!!!
Beautiful and clean and the most amazing views. Well kept and well taken care of as guest . Highly recommended
The view is totally amazing. Must be good for a romantic getaway (I’m traveling with kids, so doesn’t apply). But try to avoid the restaurant by all means - I have just had the worst pork belly in my life (for $30, btw)
clean rooms, friendly attentive staff and exceptional location. totally worth it.
