Still one of my favorite places to eat!Been gone from Sanger a year and just came back to Fresno to visit family. Hap to come here and eat because Mexican food isn't the same out in Georgia and nothing comes close for me! Velascos is the best!

I would give this place no stars if I could. I remember coming here for years with my family since I was in middle school and I'm an adult with kids of my own now. The past few months since the change of ownership this place has gone down. The short midget waitress with her hair slicked back all the time has been so rude to us the last time we went. There as a customer who pushed my one and two year old daughters and the waitress tried to force us to sit by her after we asked not to. We ended up leaving because of the way we're were treated as customers compared to regulars who had gotten seated before us. Will NEVER go back here. Smh.

So Velasco's is very popular in our little town of Sanger Ca. It's got allot of faithful patrons that frequent it. It is very popular with the after church crowd on Sundays. Been around for quite some time and is a locally owned business.So here is my humble scoop. It is relatively clean and kept up. The building itself is old, been around for more than 20 years and it shows. It is a little on the dark side as far as the lighting and feel of the place.The waitresses vary on friendliness depending on thier moods i guess. I can honestly say that i have never left, saying that they made my day with a smile or laughter.That aside, the food is good. Real mexican taste to it but kind of standard like the same as many other places. So it's not for me a place that says ooh la la.But in all fairness i have come back several times. I've been good with it. So would i recommend it.....yes. But not highly recommend it.So all in all i give them ???

I wanted to order two dinners to go and started calling @ 5pm. The phone rang & it was a busy signal. I tried 30x and gave up, ISTG. I called Haciendita & they promptly answered, took my order & told me it would be ready in 15 minutes. One wonders how this place stays in business...

use to love coming here but I had a bad experience today when there was a dark hair in one of the plates under the beans and someone from the back comes out and accused us that it was my moms hair. we weren't trying to get the food for free we just wanted to get another plate of food WITHOUT hair in it.

SB TERRIBLE!!ZERO STARS! apparently this restaurant does not know what Caldo de Pollo is! What you are selling is sliced chicken with chicken broth. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!! As soon as you walk in that awful stinky smell hits you like a dive bar. Unsanitary. I would have not given them A star but had to in order for this to post. Velasco's Owners you need to get your kitchen in order

Yum! Got the burrito- it was big, full, and satisfying. Everything was cooked nicely. The service was quick and nice. Interior isn't all that and parking is tight.

Great food and friendly staff. But very inconsistent with what hours they are open. They close constantly at odd moments like the middle of the day. They post their hours are at 9 am opening but they don't actually allow patrons in til 9:15 or later and forget calling because they rarely answer their phone. It's one of my favorite places to dine but they have issues they need addressed and they definitely need to upgrade their decor. It's so dated and grungy looking

Have had dinner here in every visit from Arizona..couldn't wait to eat here again..BUT this experience my sister ( that lives in Sanger) and my husband and I had terrible service, sat without none of the waitresses coming to our table for at least10 minutes..maybe more. 2 waitresses were sitting out front, directly in view of us customers snd didn't move, plus the waitress in prep area..also waited before attending us. AND there were only 3 tables wit a couple customers!!! Just lazy waitresses. Taco shell were so stake and soggy and COLD! WE'VE BEEN there before, always great serv,...not anymore. Please bring the old crew back..oh and the cook!

This place is great. We have never been disappointed with anything we have ordered. It is so good we try to make it a weekly habit. We prefer the one in Sanger to the one in Academy.

I’m sorry this place is awful, especially the way they deal with their own mistakes. The last time I was there with my family my mother ordered the tostada compuesta. It’s was soggy and filled with liquid from beans in a pot. Like they forgot to strain the the beans before they scooped it in the tostada compuesta. It was gross and leaking out. Even the waitress saw it and said she would have it remade. However, the older lady who said she was the owner said she would not have it remade and would only charge half price for it. My mom did not want to eat it like that and she wanted it remade. The owner lady said no that it is wasting food and even if she don’t eat it she still has to pay for it. We were shocked how the owner treated us and handle their mistake, never went back again. Disgusting behavior from this establishment.

Love Tuesday and the $1 street tacos with my hubby and kids. Really good Mexican food and great service the salsa is a little on the spicy side but it's not too bad, my fav here is shredded beef enchiladas, I ask to substitute the sauce with green sauce on top with extra cheese it's so much better than the regular enchilada sauce but it's good too. They're really accommodating with us we always have a large party and call in ahead of time. If someone is late and orders after everyone else gets their food the order is out quickly. Our waitresses have always been very sweet and attentive. Parking can be a little bit crazy on the street but there's almost always parking behind the building. Reasonable prices especially for how much food you get. Favorite restaurant in Sanger for my family.
